Pokemon game director Junichi Masuda has taken time to discuss the mysterious footage of Blaziken and Lucario fighting in HD. Masuda says that the video – which was showcased at the Pokemon Games Show – was basically a concept video to give gamers a glimpse of what the future of Pokemon could eventually look like.

”That was actually a video which was shown at the Pokémon Games Show, an event in Tokyo last month and it was showing the history of Pokémon games as well as the future. It was kind of a concept about what the future of Pokemon may look like…”

    1. You do realize that the Wii U would be capable of rendering something almost Pixar-like if it’s small and enclosed locations or open fields with very few models, right?

I have absolutely no doubt that the Wii U could render the above scene in realtime at 720p30 natively, perhaps even 1080p30 natively.

  1. The Pokemon company needs to stop with the concepts, JUST PUT STADIUM/ COLOSSEUM/ BATTLE REVOLUTION ON THE Wii U!!! ;,( I want to see my old Pokes as well and my NEW 6th gen Pokes in HD on my Wii U(the greatest Nintendo console ever!).

  2. read: “this is a new Wii U game, but I can’t tell you that right now, wait for a nintendo pokemon Wii U Z Direct…”
