Sega is holding a press event today which should give us an idea of what they’re planning to do with the Sonic brand this year. The poster says that 2014 will mark a renaissance for Sonic the Hedgehog, so we may get information regarding Sega’s third Wii U Sonic game. Earlier this week it was revealed at the Nuremberg toy fair that Sega is planning a brand new Sonic title for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Wii U, but Sega quickly squashed the rumour.
I hope that third silhouette is knuckles.

Seems more like they’re wearing armour/suits, check the area around Sonics shoulders for the seemingly most obvious example. Helm too possibly, his ‘chin’ is much too large.

The 3 years Sega WASTED making crap epic fail Sonic games could have been used to make Shenmue 3 that would have been so epic, released for all consoles and PC and they would have put themselves back on the map as a great game maker not a lame clueless Sonic rehash money grabber!!
Agreed with the sonic is crap and lame. But it’s fanboys will never realize that just like the fanboys that still think Pacman is relevant in today’s gaming world which he is not. Sonic should go back to it’s roots 2d platformer roots.

Sonic Colors was actually awesome, but no one knows how that was made. I can firmly assure no one at Sega had the level of skill to pull a game like that off
Sonic colors, Sonic Generations and Sonic Lost World were awesome(lost world was not as good as the other 2 but it was cool)

The hell? The silhouettes imply all the Sonic characters are getting new art style character designs…Which, I’m indifferent about apart from the fact SSB4 is already using “Modern” Sonic :/
Another change. Now there’s going to be Classic Sonic, Classic Sonic 2, and modern sonic. A change in the design will not make it better

Knack was horrible dude. Stop trying so hard to make it appear as a decent game. It was a flat gameplay, poorly designed and overall extremely bland.

People who think Sonic is still failing are people who are late to the Sonic hate train that ended in mid-2010. Lost World sucked, but it’s no 06. One bad game isn’t going to kill a franchise.
I don’t understand why is it so hard for sega to go back to the sonic adventure style, they perfected that formula with Sonic Adventure 2 and they scrap it, the last formula with Sonic Generations they also perfected and then they decided to scrap it with Lost World.

I thought Lost Worlds was going to be a revolution…it really was not as fun as I thought, because it was very awkward to control at times.
My opinion aside, it sold like shit, so I’m not the only one to feel this way. I don’t know how they can revive Sonic. And don’t get me wrong, Lost Worlds didn’t suck, it just wasn’t as epic as it needed to be to revolutionize the franchise.
A Sonic RPG would probably glp sales.
