HAL Says They Are “Really Interested In Making A Fully 3D Kirby Game”

Kirby Triple Deluxe director Shinya Kumazaki, managing director Yurie Hattori and the team’s public relations staff Satoshi Ishida have sat down for an interview with VG247. One of the pieces of information taken from the interview is the fact that the team say they would be really interested in making a full 3D platformer starring the iconic Kirby. Would you like to play a 3D Kirby game?

“We’re really interested in making a fully 3D Kirby game! I suspect there are also more than a few users who’d appreciate being able to freely run around a sprawling map, fighting with copy abilities.”

  1. I’m surprised they haven’t yet. They should try it out. It might be just what the franchise needs in ordet to feel fresh and exciting again.

  2. I’d love to see Kirby in a open world.

I rather see parts of air ride appear as missions, or as a bonus mini game, then a whole new air ride game and a 3D Kirby game

  3. Yes! For Wii U please!!! There’s so many games that need full 3D games, this being one of them.

    Others including Earthbound and Yoshi.

Ummm…YES!!! DO THIS FOR WII U NOW!! And could you bring back combined powers from Kirby 64 in said game? I would pay the full $60 for a full 3D platformer Kirby game.

This is what I’ve been wanting all along. I said before Kirby Triple Deluxe was announced that the 2D side scrolling Kirby games have gotten bland and sooo many people said they disagreed and that is the way Kirby is meant to be.

Glad to hear that Nintendo is thinking like me! :D I would rather have a 3D Kirby game… it could be amazing. The closest we have ever gotten is Kirby Air Ride and that game is one of my favorites, so a full fledged one might be able to rival the 3D Mario games.

  7. Yes! Only if its not like Kirby 64 which is the 2.5D. A full 3-d Kirby can be done right and there is so much kirby can do !

    1. Much like COD Ghost or Resident Evil 6? I don’t think so.

This is Nintendo we’re talking about, the very company that usually makes high quality acclaimed games almost every time.

Full 3D Kirby platforming game would be as great as Mario 64 was.

  8. Yeah, as long as it’s decently difficult. The latest Kirby games got very interesting and deep copy abilities but also lack challenge.

  9. Yes Hal Laboratory. If and once you have the opportunity, TAKE IT AND MAKE IT! And if its better than my expectations, I’m definitely buying it. ;3

  10. I’ve never been a fan of the Kirby games. But I’m very surprised there hasn’t been a full 3D Kirby game after all these years.

  11. Tallon Ridley XIII: Kalas

If they make a Kirby game with an open world like Mario 64, Sunshine, Galaxy, & Galaxy 2 or open world like Legend of Zelda, I’ll definitely buy this Kirby game. It will be the my first Kirby game to actually buy since I got Kirby & the Amazing Mirror from the 3DS Ambassador program.

  12. Kirby air ride 2
    more air machines,
    stages,
    colors,
    more options in settings,
    bigger city,
    more items,
ONLINE PLAY 8 players, and 5-players local multiplayer

  13. Fully 3D would be nice, but it’ll probably be shorter than ever.

Every time Nintendo adds value these days they remove value elsewhere in the game. (like no battle tracks in MK8).

But if they release something Mario 64 in size, featuring Kirby, I’ll gladly eat my hat.

  14. I honestly don’t understand why they haven’t done this yet, it would be cool if done right. Here is a link to cancelled Kirby games and notice that one of them is a 3D Kirby game :http://iwataasks.nintendo.com/interviews/#/wii/kirby-dream-land/0/0

And here is an image of it: http://iwataasks.nintendo.com/_ui/images/wii/kirbydreamland/maboroshi02.jpg

Hopefully they do make one, I can imagine it could be tough making a 3D Kirby game since Kirby can fly but I’m sure if they tweak it, like say Kirby only has limited flight due to the bad guy of the story, it gives them an excuse to add Air Ride machines for transportation.
