This is nothing but a big rumour at present, but it’s certainly worth mentioning. Twitter user Jenny Pratt recently attended Wondercon and mentioned that she had heard rumours that the Disney team behind Wreck it Ralph were interested in making an animated movie based on Banjo Kazooie. The team at Disney are apparently hoping to have the movie out around 2018/2019. We know that Phil Spencer has talked about utilising Rare’s IP so this would be a good start. Who knows?

This is obviously fake but Wreck-it-Ralph is great, Disney acquiring Marvel resulted in amazing movies and so far the new Star Wars movies look like they’ll be pretty good, (though so did Episode 1) and they have the highest grossing Animated film of all time under their belt.
Disney does have it’s stinkers but it’d hardly be a bullet to Banjo’s head. You can’t do any worse with Banjo than Microsoft has already done.

On the contrary, Disney might be the only ones that will be able to salvage the franchise if allowed to make an animated movie. We just have to accept the possibility, or fact depending on who you talk to, that Banjo & Kazooie as a video game character is most likely doomed if not already dead. But so far, it is dead.

Disney is not like any other animation studio that will make films for other company’s IP, unlike Dreamworks and Imageworks.
Unless the rumor is based on Banjo Kazzoie appearing in Wreck-it-Ralph 2, then it is possible. Otherwise this is just a rumor.

Having a Banjo-Kazooie animated musical film directed by Rich Moore from Disney would be a great idea in my opinion. As long as the Disney version Banjo-Kazooie would not screw up like Microsoft did to them. And guys, don’t you dare say no to a new Banjo-Kazooie movie! It might happen soon enough in either 2018 or 2019 probably after the huge success of Wreck-It Ralph 2, when the rumour is true, butthurt fanboys!!
