E3 is fast approaching and we know there’s going to be a few surprises from Nintendo. Could a new titled staring Diddy Kong be one of them? Well the Kyoto based company has filed a trademark for “Diddy Kong” in Europe. You may remember that rumour that suggested that Monster Games were going to be working on Diddy Kong Racing 2 on the Wii U. Well, it could be related to that. Who knows though! Guess we shall have to wait till E3 next week to find out.
Nintendo Has Filed A Trademark For “Diddy Kong” In Europe

****ing A….1
Yes!
I’ll buy a Wii U for this maybe.
OH god yes! DKR2 must happen, original was so much better and fun than MK games anyway. Its almost a crime there hasnt been sequel for DKR yet.
Thanks internet for ruining any surprise I might ever have in my life for anything ever.
New plan: Stay away from all internet news sites(and maybe your friends as well) until after E3.
i dont like diddy kong racing. *shots fired*
Are a lot of people really excited for this? I know some people are very vocal about it but It feels like its the same people all the same. Personally I never like this game, I was always a fan of MK instead.
Its an old as heck game developed by rare. If anything the sequel should be fundamentally different.
Maybe, I’ll still give it a try if DKR2 comes out. Not going to ignore a Ninty title, I was referring to the first DKR though.
Diddy Kong Racing was an awesome game though. It was extremely fun and unique from any racer that was out there and it sold 5 million copies worldwide on the N64 so it would make sense that Nintendo would want to bring it back especially considering the mass success and reception that Mario Kart 8 got. I hope it’s coming but I hope it’s Monster Games developing it and not Retro. I hope they’re focusing their efforts on the next Metroid
The thing I never liked about it were the physics, the crafts felt slippery, and the planes felt a bit stiff. Maybe it was my lack of skill that put me off, or maybe it was the whole story not being linear.
I did try the DS version a few years ago and I hated it. I hear its an inferior ports so I don’t take it into consideration when bringing up the game.
It could just be the nostalgia but I feel like Diddy Kong racing was more fun than any of the Mario Kart games. I’m talking about the original N64 game, the DS port is garbage.
Lol yeah I don’t count the DS port aswell. Maybe I should revisit the game. Like I said above, I didn’t like the mechanics but it was probably my lack of skill that made me dislike the game.
MK8 has been the only Mario Kart since the original to be even close to the majesty that is Diddy Kong Racing. Mario Kart has always felt like an arcade game, DKR has always felt like more than that.
Better than Double Dash? Blasphemous! Lol
Ehh… the rubber banding AI and the unbalanced items in that game say otherwise. Having two characters in a cart was pretty cool though. I really liked some of the tracks too! They really should think about putting a Double Dash mode in MK8!
But I guess we were bound to disagree since I think Edea > Agnes ;)
Ok now you’re just starting problems for the sake of starting them lol Edea is a bad ass but its Agnés all the way. I did dislike the rubber banding but I loved everything about DD. Well honestly, most of the MK games have unbalanced items lol
as long as retro isn’t doing it
Actually, I’d like it to be a new Donkey Kong Country game starring Diddy Kong like in DKC2.
There was a “leak” that suggested that Diddy, Birdo, Inkling boy/girl and Pikachu would be announced as DLC for Mario Kart 8. Maybe it’s to do with that?!?
“Hey guys! Remember how Diddy Kong didn’t appear in MK8?, Well Take a look”
YES! Even more hype for e3! Diddy Kong Racing is one of the best racing games even more so than Mario Kart. If current e3 leaks and speculation for Nintendo’s e3 are true they will win e3.

Cool but we dnt need another racer
Well Nintendo did purchase Timber the Tiger. So possibly a DKR2.

As amazing as this sounds, I doubt its coming anytime soon; Nintendo is REALLY focused on MK8 at the moment and as even stated that they are planning more DLC for it in the future. They could make DKR2, but it’d definitely an odd, unlikely, move at the time being.
They could make a 3D Donkey Kong.
