Europe: Xenoblade Chronicles X Data Packs Now Available For Download

Xenoblade Chronicles X launches this Friday in Europe and the downloadable data packs which cut loading times are now available to download on the eShop. Each of the packs are over 2GB so it would be a good idea to download them now to get it out of the way so you are ready to play the game. These packs are only needed if you’re buying a retail copy as the digital version has them pre-installed.

  • The Basic Data Pack installs frequently used data, such as terrain. It speeds up load times in the city and in the field. For the greatest impact on your experience, download this pack first.
  • Enemy High-Speed Data Loading Pack (2.93GB),
  • Player High-Speed Data Loading Pack (3.8GB
  • The Skell High-Speed Loading Pack (1.6GB).

  1. So wait. I am a little ignorant on this…
I know data must get swappped out of the RAM as you play, but what are these loading times they speak of?
AC3, GTA – you just traverse the world – when does X stop to “Load?” Between missions maybe?

    1. Only when you start the game, fast travel or enter a certain building. Aside from that, no blocking load times. Now there may be still other forms of load times (such as a texture being replaced with a blurry version of itself before it’s fully loaded or something like that). I’m not sure which of these load times the data packs reduce, but at the very least the blocking load times should be, though I assume even the non-blocking load times will be reduced.

    1. 💃I'm a Boss Ass Bitch💯

  2. The experience will be better with data packs it will gives better loading times and graphics performance will look a lot smoother with frame rates improving a bit.

Yikes. December 4th is just around the freaking corner! Too bad I only have enough money for bills, maybe 1 or 2 games for PS4, & money to go see FUCKING STAR WARS VII!! @.@ XCX will have to wait til late March or early April when Nintendo Account releases with hopefully cloud service for transferring Wii U data so I can get my data stuck on my old Wii U onto my refurbished Wii U. Stupid “You need two Gamepads for the Wii U to Wii U transfer to work!” bullshit. -.- “The Gamepad isn’t integral to the Wii U!” some idiots say. “Bullshit it isn’t!” smart people that actually have a freaking clue say.

Anyway, these next couple of months need to go by faster so I can enjoy Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water, Xenoblade Chronicles X, & Star Fox Zero. Meanwhile, I’ll enjoy my PS4 with games like Toukiden: Kiwami, Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate, maybe Dying Light, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate (only when I’m sure it won’t be plagued with glitches), & Resident Evil Revelations 2. I’m sure there is a slew of other games but those I mentioned have my interests tied up right now.
