Nintendo Announces Three New The Legend of Zelda Amiibo

Nintendo have announced three new The Legend of Zelda amiibo to accompany the new title The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for the Wii U and Nintendo NX. The three amiibo will include Link with a bow (archer), Link on horseback (rider) and a Guardian amiibo.

“The game also includes compatibility with amiibo, which are sold separately. Nintendo announced a new series of amiibo figures specific to the game that includes Link with a bow (“Archer”), Link on horseback (“Rider”), and a “Guardian” that is the first amiibo with flexible parts. The existing Wolf Link amiibo works with the game as well: When players tap a Wolf Link amiibo to the Wii U GamePad controller, Wolf Link will attack enemies on his own and help players to hunt. He has three hearts, unless players carry over save data fromThe Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD. Wolf Link disappears when his hearts run out. Details can be found athttp://e3.nintendo.com/amiibo/.”

Their release date is yet to be announced. Check them out below:

  1. I think my favourite one is the one on the bottom right. Looks great (still getting all of them though).

Is the horse still named “Epona”? Or are they just going to let the horse be nameless?

  2. In the trailer it was actually shown that you can catch horses in the game, so probably your horse(s) won’t have any name at all.

    1. Or Link can be like Geralt & just call every horse he rides Epona. Geralt calls every horse he has Roach. xD

  5. So if I use Wolf Link amiibo with Twilight Princess HD & I have 20 hearts, my wolf will have 20 hearts? Uhm… Not sure how I should feel about that.

Anyway, none of these interest me, really, since I’m not too fond of the blue shirt (it’s not really that it’s blue but the shade of blue they are using for it) & will most likely change to something else first chance I get in the game. Maybe the game will have a dye system from the get go. Witcher 3 sadly didn’t get a dye system til the latest expansion DLC and even then the dyes are limited to the damn Witcher gear. :/

Maybe these won’t be the only Zelda amiibo, though, and are just the ones they wanted to show during E3.

      1. “He has three hearts, unless players carry over save data fromThe Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD. ” Yeah, 3 hearts won’t be the default unless you use a blank slate Wolf Link amiibo.

And hey! I found a typo in the article! xD
