According to respected media publication New Media Age Magazine; Nintendo are planning an extensive web based assault to help promote the company’s forthcoming Wii console which is due for release later this year.
Nintendo have apparently allocated a rather significant portion of their £10 million marketing budget in a bid to help raise its brand awareness online using the new slogan “Wii Move You”.
In regards to its new online endeavor Nintendo stated “We’re just in the final stages of putting our media plan together for Wii, but in terms of online our spend is way more than anything we’ve done before.”
This online campaign is expected to penetrate popular social networking communities in a bid to win over a large percentage of the lucrative teenage market with the revolutionary video games console.
Nintendo have come a long way from their “really rad!” Legend of Zelda rap ad. They advertise really well now.
Nintendo seems to have taken notes from its adversaries advertising campaigns and have produced slick, and highly sophisticated ads which now appeal to a far wider demographic. Let’s hope the newly announced online campaign continues this recent trend from the company.
I have just found a two-page advert in my pc gamer with the logo stretched across to pages!
and the website wimoveyou.co.uk on the bottom
Awesome!
I would imagine the site is set to go live anyday now.
I’m certainly intrigued to see just what Nintendo have up their sleves in regards to their online marketing blitz.
Anyhow thank you for the heads up :)
It’s great to hear about Nintendo’s dedication to makreting. They’ve really came a long way, but this slogan is just terrible. Wii Move You?! I was hoping for something similar to their DS slogan at launch, but it’s only a slogan.
I think Nintendo have come a long way recently with their advertisement campaigns, I also believe that the majority of them have been a success. But in regards to the online marketing campaign slogan: ‘Wii Move You’ I’m currently diggin’ it, though it does sound like it’s advertising music software rather than a games console.
