Nintendo DSi: New Nintendo DSi XL Colour For America

Before the imminent unveiling of the Nintendo 3DS at E3 next week, Nintendo have announced that they’re releasing a Midnight Blue DSi XL in the United States, July 11th.

Nintendo of America today announced the addition of a new color scheme for the portable Nintendo DSi XL™ system. Starting July 11, U.S. consumers will be able to purchase the system in midnight blue. Like the original bronze and burgundy versions, the midnight blue Nintendo DSi XL will be available at a suggested retail price of $189.99.

Nintendo DSi XL is the latest iteration of Nintendo’s top-selling family of hand-held game systems. In addition to its two built-in cameras and photo- and sound-manipulation functions, Nintendo DSi XL offers two screens that are 93 percent larger than those on the Nintendo DS™ Lite system.

The system also features pre-loaded software such as Flipnote Studio, Brain Age Express: Math and Brain Age Express: Arts & Letters, as well as Photo Clock and the Nintendo DSi™ Browser. Nintendo DSi XL screens have a wider viewing angle that makes it easier for friends to gather around and share the fun.

  1. How nice, but I think I’ll wait for the 3DS, thanks Nintendo. My DS Lite will do for now.

  2. Will it be black on the outside? I wanna see how it looks closed.
I really wanted one of these, but I’ll probably go for the 3DS too…

  3. I was saving up for a DSi XL (currently have a DS Lite thought id get a bigger screen and DSi Ware) if this comes to UK i will get this one for sure

  4. Oh son of a– They really should have released this right away, I prefer this to the Bronze one I was left with no choice to get at the time. Yeah, I could have waited for 3DS, but I really needed a replacement to my DS Fat circa 2005 A.D. anyway.

    1. I’m on the same boat as you. Why did they release such abstract colors that we were forced to settle for?!
