  1. I was part of that 1.08 that picked it up first day and I am loving the decision more and more, the more I play. I bought Black, but you’re going to get an amazing game, regardless of the color.
The fact that it is not just pokemon that are exclusive to the specific color, but the forrest/city differences make buying both, a little less insane.(imo)

    1. Main differences is a few exclusive Pokémon between each, the legendary; you get whichever is on the box. Also White has an exclusive forest location where you can catch something like 26 unique Pokémon while Black has a city instead where you fight their evolutions.

There is also one city which is either modern or old-looking depending on the game.

  2. I purchased the Black version on release, right after my work shift at my second job lol. Basically this week has been pokemon, work, eat, sleep in order of importance.

  3. No way this is surprising.. Here in america you can buy video games on practically every city block – my gamestop is within walking distance of at least 4 other game-selling locations – and still, 9am sunday I had to wait behind a long line just to pick my preorder up. and that was just 1 location! Adults, kids, high school jocks… Everyone was buying pokemon. And why not? An outstanding addition to the series, and not to mention that the hardcover strategy guide is an absolute beauty of a book.. Now i have another reason to get my 3ds – 2 ds playing systems to trade pokemon from my pearl over to black!

  4. How is the Pokemon game compared to old-school Red and Crystal? (The games I grew up playing).

I’ve been hesitant to get back into Pokemon because o now there’s hundreds of new Pokemon, new Pokeballs, new locations, new types of Pokemon, new match types (2v2 and now 3v3), and it all just seems a little too overwhelming.

But, if the reviews of this are good, I might pick it up when I buy the 3DS since the launch games aren’t very exciting.

    1. I generally prefer not to compare any of the pokemon games, since they are all very fun, but I would definitely say that this is by far my favorite addition to the series so far.. once I play through some more, I will be able to decide if I like as much as Crystal/Heartgold!

  5. I’ll say this much about Black/White:
They’re probably the best Pokemon games I’ve played since the original Gold/Silver. It’s definitely worth the $35 they’re asking for. Buy them (or at least one of them) now!

  6. I’ve never owned a Pokemon game before but I have played a demo Wii version at Best Buy. Is the Black and White versions a good starting point for a newbie?
