Nintendo Wii: Nintendo Planning Biggest Marketing Campaign To Promote Wii Price Cut

Nintendo UK has announced that it’s planing its biggest ever marketing campaign outside of Christmas to aggressively promote the Wii’s price cut. Nintendo UK announced earlier last week that it’s planning to reduce the price of the Nintendo Wii to a mere £129.99 approximately $200 or lower from May 20th onwards. Anyone looking to pick up one of the newly reduced Wii consoles with Mario Kart Wii?

“We have a huge TV campaign which airs for four weeks from the evening of Thursday, May 19th. It showcases various first and third party titles, which focus on various reasons why Wii is perfect for a young family – it’s creative, social, active, safe and fun. We will also have an outdoor and in-store campaign that focuses on the great value found in the new Mario Kart bundle.

“On the Nintendo website there will be a new guide to buying your first Wii, and what games to get with it – along with a search campaign focused on directing those people looking to buy their first games console toward this site.

“Overall it’s the biggest Wii hardware campaign we’ve run outside of peak season.”

  1. I’ve been using my roommate’s Wii for the past 3 years, and since I’m moving out soon this price cut comes at the perfect time for me to get my own.

    1. Good stuff, I guess. But if Project Cafe launches in 2012, then you should consider that. I’d wait until E3.
