Nintendo 3DS: More Awesome And ‘Familiar’ Suits To Come In Super Mario 3D Land

Yoshiaki Koizumi, the director of Super Mario 3D Land on the Nintendo 3DS has told the Official Nintendo Magazine that there’s a whole host of new and familiar suits to be found in Super Mario 3D Land. We already know about the Tanooki suit but what else awaits us?

“I should point out that we don’t necessarily decide on what number of famous Mario suits will appear in the game and proceed from there. We try to find interesting gameplay ideas and then try to settle on what to do in different places. But I can say that we will definitely have some more familiar suits than just the Tanooki Suit.”

It would be amazing if there was a green suit that let mario use a sword, or a robotic one that lets him use a beam.

    1. Haha, kirby style? Doesn’t sound too shabby, although that’s the sort of gameplay I am awaiting from the next Kirby title for 3DS!

  2. I’m thinking of the metal cap from N64 but with added stuff like magnetism where he can change polarity to stick to walls/ceilings etc.

        1. well it wasnt a horrible suit, i just hated that every time i ran and jump it would start slidding and if you hit any pipe or block, you would instantly slide back, at times into holes, oh god i failed many levels that way. Lol very frustrating

  3. The cape sounds too “fly-aroundish” to me. All the footage we’ve seen so far shows levels based on the ground without the possibility of flight. I don’t expect much in the way of flying. They wouldn’t do flying in SMG either, for some odd reason….

    1. i loved that shoe! that was awesome. :-D what about kirby, link, samus, dr mario- actually leave out dr mario- captain falcon of f-zero suits?

  4. would be cool if 3 special suits come back: the metal suit and the invisible suit from SM64 and the penguin suit from NSMBWii. and it would be great to combinate suits like in SM64
