    1. Yeah, but sadly I think Link in-game will remain right-handed :(

I’m right-handed, but would totally be fine with playing left-handed if it meant playing as left-handed Link in-game. I’d prefer it actually. It doesn’t feel odd switching the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to me.

Link should always be a lefty, like his creator!

      1. Wait, what? So whether you play left handed or right handed, in the game Link will always be right handed? That doesn’t make sense. His motion animations should match those of whoever’s playing.

          1. I don’t think you even need a function for the check. Just set the mesh to it’s value -X upon start up and it should be good.

        1. It makes plenty of sense. The game adjusts so that you holding the Wii remote in your left hand does not make Link’s arm always point to the far left as it would if the controller were that far over in right-handed mode. Nunchuck-related moves would also be fixed to accommodate for the change in controller position.

      2. I really don’t see the big deal about him being left-handed… if he were right handed until this game and they suddenly made him left-handed, no one would give two shits.

But if we’re going to be really anal about it, then I’d like to point out that Link was 1/4 right-handed in the first game, perfectly ambidextrous in Zelda II, and was again 1/4 right-handed in A Link to the Past. Link’s always been a flip-flopper, so I don’t see how this game is ruining some sort of “left-handed heritage.”

    1. really? playing it left handed wont change the game for me, and im left handed, but i play right handed. granted i will replay no doubt about it.

  2. I personally don’t mind which hand Link holds his sword in. As long as the gameplay is smooth then I have no complaints.

  3. YES! this is brilliant! I’m left handed and LINK IS LEFT HANDED (which is important to me) so it’s important for him to stay left handed. I do wish I got the GC version of TP for the left handedness of it, but I’m glad we’re given a choice on SS, similar to PH and ST, although I hope the hearts and menu screens don’t reverse like they do in PH and ST.

  5. Sounds like a cool feature! But it would feel a bit odd holding the nunchuk in my right hand, I’m so used to having the analog stick be controlled with my left thumb…

But I’ll still try it out, nonetheless!

  6. The whole lefty-righty Link debate is kind of silly, though being a left handed person, this is great news for me.

  7. One handed swords were maneuvered with the left hand, so the shield colud be worn by the stronger arm (right) to withstand impacts, Miyamoto has already said he liked the medieval vibe when the The Legend of Zelda, so this is why Link were left hended: To match the way it was in the medieval Europe. he just got right handed on later games to match the vast majority of right handed gamers who played on the wii, this is, things were done this way for convenience.
