    1. Technically, that does not mean that it will be completely region-locked. Pokémon Black and White were in the same situation, and I managed to import and play that successfully. The only thing is that you can’t play a DSi-enhanced title on a DSi or better; however, you can play it on something without DSi features such as the DS Lite.

  1. Who would have guessed?

It’s a franchise popular in Japan, with a license from said Japanese franchise… why would they pay to get the license in other countries, just for one game that probably won’t sell 50,000 copies outside of Japan combined?

    1. Dude, it costs more putting region lock on their, and who said they have to release in other regions? All they have to do is make the game not region locked problem solved. You sound like a spoiled brat, and we don’t need that here.

  2. Who cares? I’d rather the game be localized. Importing an SRPG without knowing fluent, sometimes difficult Japanese (most don’t even if they pretend to) so it’s really no sweat off my or most people’s back if a game as text heavy as this is region locked.

    1. Just because you may not care, doesn’t mean others wouldn’t have wanted it. 1 for one never played any Pokemon games, but this title has me interested due to nostalgia I have for Nobunaga’s Ambition.

    1. +1

nintendo better think really hard about what their doing, they wanna fight piracy, but yet deprive their most loyal fans.

        1. Instead whining and crying that people pirate their games, they could put a stop to it like making every game region free, lolz.

  3. It’ll just make it a bit more of a challenge for hackers to get around. It’ll be hacked, region free and all over the web for use with AceKard, R4, and all the others. Nintendo hasn’t realized the DS is far too easily hacked to bother with all these protections and region codes. And region codes are just dumb to begin with, if it’s capable of being used in another country, then why not let it be? Does it REALLY matter if someone plays a Japanese game in America? With TVs it’s more understandable if they use the NTSC/PAL thing, but handhelds? There’s no excuse.
