It’s no surprise that Shigeru Miyamoto is dissatisfied with the reception Wii Music received but what is surprising is his determination to make another game in the series. Miyamoto told Spanish newspaper El Mundo that he wants to take some of the ideas that worked in the original Wii music on Wii and put them to good use on Wii U.
“It is always sad that something is not sold as well as expected. I think these negative experiences on a project is a thorn that is stuck, so we usually try to work the best idea or at least take it up and concretize it from an angle different for use in another title. ” Is that the case of Wii Music? “Yes, I want to do more with that idea,” he adds with a laugh.”
Heard the original wasn’t very good, never played it though. Guess I’ll have to see how this one is.
I’ve played it. It’s fun at first, but it gets a little boring pretty quickly. It’s not a bad game, but I wouldn’t say it’s worth the money unless you get it second-hand from a game store
I’m not going to lie: I actually had fun with Wii Music. Granted the reviews/criticisms were spot on; that doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy it nonetheless. If he learned from mistakes and puts what made Wii Music decent/average/good, then I will wait to see what comes out from his mind for the Wii U.
I bought this at full price on a whim.
Had loads of fun with it the first day (with a group of people playing)
Had a little fun for the rest of the week.
It then sat untouched for several months before I sold it so I could buy some new games. Got a good price for it, surprisingly!
It was a good idea, very poorly implemented. Lets hope they get it right next time.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
oh god no. I swear if most of their titles are Wii ____ again I’m just going to quit. Enough of this, Nintendo. Didn’t work on Wii, won’t work on Wii U.
Just don’t play those games if you don’t like them. Believe it or not, but there are actually people who have fun playing those games. And you can’t say Nintendo doesn’t make enough “real” games because there have been more than enough first party titles on the Wii.

first half of the post: SHUT THE FUCK UP stop begging
second part: cool story bro
Wii Music is a terrible game.
COOL STORY BRA
Thanks!
Radican narrative, son of my mother, verbally transmit the narrative another time!
Miyamoto, please don’t. That was an embarassing waste of two years’ development.

But i LOVED wii music!!! Im so happy it might be coming to wii u!
Wii Music had aspects I liked, but there was no real technical challenge apart from getting the rhythm right. I may be awful at them, but it takes a degree of skill to be good at games like Guitar Hero! Besides, a lot of gamers just wouldn’t care to play a game with more traditional instruments. I guess Wii Music just wasn’t “sexy” enough for what they were trying to do.
The problems that I had with the game were that, the wiimote controls are terrible and very imprecise. Maybe the Motion+ would have made up for some of that, but unfortunately the Motion+ came later. The other problem was that you didn’t actually play music. You just waggle the wiimote and it basically played itself. Sure, there was some control over what was played but not much.
It got boring really fast. Also, that composer guy was really annoying.
I wish My Nintendo News would stop making non-sense titles to attract clicks
All news sites do it. How else would they get traffic?
Wii Music? MY BODY IS READY!
FUCK YEAH!
NO WII MUSIC FOR WIIU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ITS A SHIT GAME!!!!
NO PLEASE!!!
Why can’t he just accept the game sucks and the idea was bad, and hence the game should be left to die? Let the crappy idea go…
well the idea wasnt bad, just wasnt exactly pulled of right
Wii Music was hella fun! My friends and I had a blast trying and retrying to get our parts perfect. The most fun we had was in Hand Bells, though.
If they want Wii U Music to succeed, they’ll have to use less music from the public domain. With such an expansive library of quintessential video game music at their disposal, I’m not sure why they only tossed in 3 of their own songs.
A composer mode would be awesome, as would the ability to post songs onto facebook or twitter.
There’s so much potential; let’s hope they nail it this time!
They kind of did have a composer mode, unless you mean the ability to “compose” songs.
Miyamoto could do wonders with that touchscreen, like let it be used as a keyboard. Or there could be a virtual drum kit on it, or you could strum it like a guitar…
Meh, if this is made I won’t buy it. I don’t really like any of the “Wii X” games, but if others like them that’s cool with me I guess.
