Pokémon Dream Radar And Pokédex 3D Pro Coming To Nintendo 3DS eShop In Fall

Two new downloadable Pokémon titles are coming soon to the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS. Pokémon Dream Radar and Pokédex 3D Pro will both release in fall 2012, giving players new ways to catch and learn about their favorite Pokémon, while expanding the overall experience for those that choose to play the upcoming Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 games on the Nintendo 3DS.

  • Pokémon Dream Radar lets players use several different features of the Nintendo 3DS system, including the Nintendo 3DS camera, motion control and augmented-reality technology, to catch Pokémon by moving the Nintendo 3DS to discover hidden Pokémon. Players can catch the Pokémon by moving the Nintendo 3DS to aim and shoot beams at them. Caught Pokémon from Pokémon Dream Radar can be transferred into Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2, helping players build their roster of Pokémon. Pokémon Dream Radar also includes some hard-to-get Pokémon, giving players even more incentive to catch them for their game. Pokémon Dream Radar will be available exclusively for purchase via download from the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS.
  • Pokédex 3D Pro is a fully enhanced and upgraded version of the original Pokédex 3D application. It includes detailed information about the more than 600 Pokémon featured in the history of the Pokémon video game series. Pokédex 3D Pro also includes in-depth sorting, comparison and ranking tools, as well as comprehensive details on what abilities each Pokémon can learn and how it evolves. Additionally, the application includes extensive augmented-reality capabilities, including the ability to take photos of Pokémon in the real world. With Pokédex 3D Pro, all known Pokémon are unlocked from the start, allowing players to access a wealth of information that will be useful as they play through Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2. Pokédex 3D Pro will be available exclusively for purchase via download from the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS.

      1. Radar is likely, but might cost a couple more buck. Boost it up to $5-6.

The pokedex, bein an upgrade, is likely to be free. I’d actually be surprised if that costed anything

        1. “Costed” – well, fuck. You must be 12 years old.
Anyway, it WILL cost something. It’s already confirmed at 1500 yen/$15, etc.

          1. Well I stand corrected. And no, I’m actually a freshman in college goin on sophomore. Who honestly gives a shit about grammar on a blog site?

        2. Dream radar won’t cost that much only like $/£2.70 or $/£3.60 and 3D pro has already been confirmed to have a price they’ll probably reduce it to around $/£10

          1. You guys are converting yens directly to dollars/euros. Like retail and downloadable games, it’ll cost less in the US. Europe will get a direct conversion of the dollar counterpart though:
$2= 2 Euros (sorry, I don’t know the code for the euro symbol.

            1. Hey i am younger than kirbymario and i think it should be $12 because i have a full paper pokedex for gold and silver and i was 13 @ walmart and dream radar should be $4! who agrees?

  1. This sounds pretty kwl actually, finally being able to use one software off the 3DS with an actual game, and its a DS game which is pretty kwl!
I’m glad the pokedex is being upgraded since it was alright but not very user friendly, you couldn’t do much on it really.

  2. The Only Pokemon Champ

These have been previously announced for Japan from the Nintendo Direct in April
Sickr just neglected to post about it then
The Pokemon Dream Radar is gonna be about 2-3 bucks
The Pokedex 3D Pro is gonna be about 15 bucks ( yikes! :/ )

  3. The Only Pokemon Champ

    Oh and sickr
you wrote “Pokémon Dream Radar will be available exclusively for purchase via download from the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS” twice, and in the Pokedex 3D Pro section

  4. Since it is said that they maybe released in August, then Pokemon Black and White 2 could be released in the same month at the very least. YES!

    1. On october 7th this year to be exact. if you think I’m wrong, go to then go down and look on the LEFT side pane and go to black2/white2 and THEN go to the right side and look for the release.

  9. I foresee the future! I bet that if you pre order black and white 2 you’ll get a code to download the pokedex pro for free, kinda like they did with kid Icarus.

  10. Take pictures of Pokémon in the real world? Perfect for making fake pokémon sightings! >:D

  11. It might be possible that one of them will be free for a while after the game launches or that one might be a pre-order bonus as an incentive to get the game as soon as it comes out… :) <3
(All Speculation and wishful thinking of course)

  13. Great. These apps are gonna cost money. Now I gotta Run to Walmart for some $20 Eshop cards. -_-‘ I only see the 20’s so if there are cards of a lesser value, I didn’t see it. I wish that just 1 of ’em was FREE.

  14. The guy at the top seems to think yen and dollars are the same currency Dream Radar:300 yen= 3-4 dollars 3D Pro: 1500= 18-19 dollars

  15. I’m not too enticed to buy the pokedex when I can just use my 3DS’s Internet capabilities to go on Serebii for all the info that I don’t already know. The original pokedex has a full movedex already, and honestly I doubt I’ll need to look up pokemon very often anyway. And since, for whatever reason, these are not 3DS games (B2/W2), I have to quit to access the home menu, so why not take it 1 step further. I just wish these could be free.

      1. Nintendo wouldn’t pass down the chance to make more money. I wouldn’t count on them changing the price. Even though on Nintendo Direct had shown that most people download free applications and games, for instance Legend of Zelda Four Swords, Nintendo Video, and Swapnote. I’m still buying the Dream Radar and White 2 because they interact together unlike most games. I’d pass on the Pokedex 3D Pro

  16. I can just look up pokemon on Serebii or Bulbapedia. Why spend 20 bucks on a pokedex that you won’t even use? Uggh i need a smoothie now!

  17. now what the fuck now im hoping its at the most be 5 bucks together. And if its not all together the dream radar, pokedex 3d pro, white 2, super mario brothers 2, and 3ds xl will be like 320 bucks

  18. I was at first expecting for pokedex pro to be $0 and dream rader to be $2, WHY WOULD I SPEND $15 WHEN I COULD JUST USE SEREBII!?

  19. I agree with everybody, it’s just Nintendo getting some more money out of us Pokémon fans. I can understand why Radar costes money as you can only get the Therian’s on it (as well as the mascots of the 4th gen main games mascot’s with hidden abilities) but Pokédex costs too much, i’d expect it to be £10 tops. I also agree how that why use the new £15 app when the thing called the internet exists nowadays, B2W2 already cost around £30, Pokédex costs £15 and Radar costes about £3 so all together it’ll cost around £48 but if your buying BOTH games (like i am) it’ll cost like £80!! Don’t forget that there will most likely be strategy guides released AS WELL so you could end up spending about £60-£100 approx. unless you only want to buy one of the games and that’s it :/
Atleast there is a pre-order bonus with the games for free i guess .-.

  20. Here’s a question. What happens to those who have a DSi like myself. Will we be able to access these new products? Or is it for 3DS only? If it’s only for the 3DS then I think it’s kinda sucky that only a certain amount of people have access to the games’ full features and, thus, ripping everyone else off in the process as those who don’t have a 3DS will have to go purchase one just to unlock the full features. And 3DS’ are not cheap. Dunno about everyone else but I do not have $300-$400AUD for a new console
