Japanese gaming publication Famitsu has awarded Pokemon Black & White 2 an impressive 36/40 in the latest edition of the magazine. The game was awarded a 10, 9, 9, and an 8. Pokemon Black & White 2 is due to be released in Japan on June 23rd. Nintendo of America and Nintendo Europe have both confirmed that the game will be released in the Fall.

Either they give hefty marks for ingenuity (which BW2 will have less of given how it’s a sequel and uses many of the same resources as BW1), or it’s just a somewhat inferior game.
Nnah, I doubt it’s ingenuity. The region’s very different, several new Gyms, Town, Routes, Pokemon. If aything, I think it’s probably just the game in general.

I agree, ign has rarely given a review that I completely disagree with. While games like Call of Duty don’t innovate very much, they are still really fun and that’s why we play games.
They actually gave black and white a lower score for having “ugly pokemon”. It still got a good score but really ign, is that really a reason to lower a score.
IGN scores in their own way and that is what it is: their opinion. Everyone has the right to buy a game and enjoy it without caring what IGN or anyone else rates it. You be the judge. (Yes I understand the whole argument about reviews making up minds)

True, very few games have been given a 40/40 brom Famitsu. Even A Link to the Past didn’t get a perfect score.

No, I have gone with the psp. I’m not playing games on it anymore, and I’m pretty much using as a photo viewer/mp3 player. I want to get a handheld that plays good games. Which is better?
I’d just go for 3DS. It can play past and present gen games, unless you want something that can play GBA REALLY badly… then you’d go for DS Lite.
3ds….its also a photo 3ds viewer/mp3 player, backwards comparable with ds games.
if only the camera was better… i like how the pics are 3D but i’ve seen better cameras. but that’s not nearly as important as the awesome games for it

That is why it is called a franchise sir. The games are supposed to be sequels with changes and enhancements with every new installment. Pokemon does not milk because that would imply copying and rehashing which Gamefreak does not do. Look at Red/Blue compared to Black/White 2 and tell me if they are rehashes or copies. Same formula yes but with improvements.
Reviews are just numbers. I’m buying the game even if it got a 1/40. No pokemon game has disappointed me.
