LucasArts has posted a job listing that suggests that the company is looking for developers to work on a first person shooter for current-gen and next-gen consoles. There are no other hints related to the game, but it’s widely expected that it will be another entry in the Star Wars franchise and will join the impressive Star Wars 1313.
PLEASE LET IT BE REPUBLIC COMMANDO 2!

A Star Wars game that is centered more around being an FPS than an adventure with lightsabers……..
I don’t follow SW games so maybe I’m missing the last time they made an FPS-centric Star Wars game, but this seems new to me.
Star Wars Republic Commando was the last FPS. It was about the storm troopers side of view in the war against the droids in the prequels (I’m not even that into Star Wars, I can’t even imagine the Star Wars knowledge of people that are REALLY into Star Wars.), and the game was actually good, I’d say fantastic!
I like the Star Wars Battlefront, it was like the best SW game i had played.
Well battlefront is a third person shooter and one of the best games from the ps2, Xbox, GameCube era.
I could see them converting it to an fps (really not many people play 3ps anymore)
You can play Battlefront in 3rd person or 1st person. So it’s both a TPS and FPS.

Battlefront 3 was a TPS in the 1st place, it just had the 1st person perspective as a feature. Also, LucasArts does not want to make the game, they have been cancelling the game multiple times, and Radical even said that they were sabotaged by LucasArts!

When I started up BF1 and BF2 they were both in 1st person by default.
Of course its another FPS….its all people want now-a-days. -.-
Don’t say that so early on, it could be Republic Commando 2 (LOL, I’ve posted quite a lot of comments saying this already.), and the 1st one was REALLY good.
I often have 50% of the comments of one article. Okay not ofter but at least of 5 article.

As much as I hope that is true, the problem is the sequel to the original Republic Commando is in the book series “hard contact” then the follow up “Triple Zero”. We may never see a true sequel unless they decide to make Hard Contact as a game, which is fine.
If its Star Wars, do not want. 1313 is already a shooter, we dont need or want another.
In fact, we Need or want another FPS. Unless its going to be comparable to Bulletstorm, or an actual creative FPS, then i dont care.
Dude, have you played Republic Commando? It’s one of the best Star Wars games, and it’s a FPS, you seriously have to try it.

No, but im bored of FPS’s, and to be honest i feel Star Wars games have lost their novelty. There are very good ones but not many, Battlefront 3 would be nice, and 1313 has potential, but other than that, most games are mediocre or very very bad (we all remember Star Wars kinect).
Umm, Star wars Kinect it’s the only bad star wars game..

Battlefront 3 is not too far-fetched. They cancelled a practically finished so maybe they could’ve saved part of it. I’m not holding my breath though.

OMG THATS SO AWESOME!!! A FIRST PERSON SHOOTER WE DON’T HAVE ENOUGH OF THOSE :D. JUST NINE OUT OF EVERY TEN FUCKING GAMES >:(!!! seriously man, I’m not a fan of FPS at all expect for the exception of metroid prime of course. I don’t mind a few FPS in the market , fine whatever, BUT COME ON everytime i turn around there is a FPS. it’s getting ridiculous.
I just wish they would stop with the lazy old republic, battlefront ect. storylines. I would pay $100 for a New Jedi Order or even an after the Yuuzhan Vong invasion, just get don’t with the boring prequel crap and get into the good stuff. I’m sure there are Millions of people out there who like me grew up with star wars and want the good stuff to finally make it to a game
