Kingdom Hearts 3D Launch Event Announced, Plus Brand-New Trailer Released

Square Enix announced a launch event for their latest Nintendo 3DS game, Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. The event will be held at the Nintendo World Store in New York City on July 28th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. During the event, attendees will be able to buy a regular copy of the game or the Mark of Mastery special edition three days early and will receive a “special gift” alongside their purchase.

Square Enix released a brand-new trailer of the game. The trailer – shown above – has the familiar “My Sanctuary” soundtrack, which was first used in Kingdom Hearts 2, playing in the background. Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance is out now in Europe and will be released in North America on July 31st. Will you be attending the event?

  1. Doesnt seem like its worth it for me to go there this time but I am wondering what that special gift is. If it is something good I will go but otherwise I’ll pass. When I went to the Re:Coded there wasnt much going on however it was well worth the trip since I won an autographed poster from Tetsuya Nomura!

  2. Kingdom Hearts is awesome. Soundtrack is awesome. I love that “My Sanctuary” song. Leave luck to heaven.

  3. i do not understand all the excitement about kingdom hearts. it’s just more disney crap and kids with over-sized novelty keys.

      1. what i’m saying is that i don’t understand why it’s so popular, the concept sounds dumb, and having played the eshop demo,i didn’t think the gameplay was anything beyond o.k.

          1. i didn’t say it was anything other than my oppinion. i am just curious as to what the appeal these games have to people is, as i cannot see it.

            1. It’s really more of a nostalgia thing. We played the games as kids and loved it with a passion then. Now we grow older and keep that passion with us.

I feel similar to the LoZ series. I never liked Zelda enough to play through it completely but I can understand why it’s so big. It didn’t appeal to me because I missed that time period to “get into it” which is what sounds like happened to you.

Unfortunately, you might never understand why we love it so much and that’s okay.
