Nintendo Europe has announced via Twitter that Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D will be heading to the Nintendo 3DS on May 24th. We found out a few weeks ago that the port of the Wii game is being developed by Monster Games, who are the developers behind Pilotwings Resort and Excite Truck.
Update: Nintendo of America has confirmed the game is also coming to North America, May 24th.

Now that I have the first comment, this game looks neat!
You mean Wii game, not Wii U game. Typo alert.
Thanks. Amended!
I might actually get this if it has all the content that the Wii version did. At least you won’t have to shake your 3DS every time you want to roll.
I might be interested someday as I don’t have it for the Wii…
Well then, looks like the American version might not be too far.
Also, DKCR was a Wii game, not Wii U…
Now on to Excite Truck 2 please!
great!
already pre ordered, never played the wii-version – can’t wait! : )
They just announced it for US too. It’s on the Nintendo and 3DS Facebook page.

If you never owned this for the Wii, the 3DS version will be a MUST-BUY seriously. The original was by far the best 2D platformer to be released for years and years and years. Its also one of the most challenging and difficult platformers ever :D
