Revered developer Shigeru Miyamoto and Japanese comedian Hitoshi Matsumoto were filmed playing the long-awaited Pikmin 3 for over 20 minutes in the latest Nintendo Direct. Pikmin 3 will be released in Europe on July 26th and in North America on August 4th. The game, which was shown at E3 2012, contains a new Rock Pikmin and also Winged Pikmin.

I don’t understand Nintendo. Now, you just barely use the gamepad with this game, and will you need to buy a Wiimote+Nunchuk in order to play it?.
No. You can play with Gamepad, Pro Controller or Wii Remote+Nunchuck.
Miyamoto already explained that you can play with the Gamepad and pro controller if you don’t want to use the Wiimote as the Gamepad and pro controller will have similar control schemes as the gamecube controller. Miyamoto did say that the Wiimote with the nunchuk fells alot of comfortable when playing this game since you have alot more flexibility with the motion plus.
Miyamoto already explained that you can use the gamepad and pro controller for this game too, it’s up to the player. He also mentioned that the Wiimote with the nunchuk is more comfortable when playing this game since it will be using motion plus for flexibility with the sensor and gets the job down more easier while the Gamepad and pro controller will still be easy to use and also having controller schemes similar to the Gamecube.

Im playing this on strictly the gamepad. I had the pro control and traded it in. I bought it to use as a secondary 2nd player control. But most games only let you use it only as a primary option. That stinks ,plus the 360 Layout and lack of voicechat limits the appeal. But Im so tired of this nunchuck and wiimote,still i may have to go for that again.
