Nintendo’s session plans for GDC Europe have been revealed after the company recently announced it would be attending the Game Developers Conference – hosted in Cologne, Germany – for the first time. The company are choosing to host two panels, one named the Nintendo Wii U Application Development with HTML and Javascript due to run on August 19, and the other named Unity, Wii U and You for August 20.
The first panel will be concerned directly with the introduction of new ways to rapidly develop Wii U applications, which “takes full advantage of unique Wii U features while reducing development times significantly”. And the second talk will focus primarily on the “benefits of developing for the Wii U and using Unity to realise it”, as well as presenting the technical advantages for developing for the home console. Both talks are hosted by Nintendo of Europe, with a Unity representative joining for the second session. Each session appears to be focussing on the correct aspect, with Nintendo using the second panel to expand their rapport with future developers for the Wii U.
Bonding with indie developers, eh, Nintendo?
As they are the future empires, High Command cannot be oblivious to their alliegance…
When the current powers are gone, the Xbots and Sonyans will not have half the support of what they have today…
