Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has confirmed that The Year of Luigi celebrations will continue well into 2014. Reggie wouldn’t give any hints as to what to expect, but fingers crossed, hopefully we will get something good. What would you like to see Nintendo announce in 2014?
“There are some Year of Luigi activities that will continue into 2014 — including some of the special products that we’ve launched (the Luigi remote and the Mario and Luigi 3DS XL) — so there will be some Luigi products to carry the Luigi banner into the next calendar year.”

Nintendo’s trying to amp up Luigi’s recognition and popularity, which it does help for him but not many people really want stuff on him. His playability is low compared to other characters, so fans of him will support this year and those who want to use him and Mario for support like how they wanted him in Wreck It Ralph or the Sonic Racing games. Never really occured to me of having a year of a Non-Mario character so year of Samus is better than Luigi though I’m not much of a Metroid player.

He is saying “don’t worry, our special edition Luigi products introduced during the Year of Luigi will still be available well into next calendar year.” Not that they’re going to be celebrating the Year of Luigi still, or making any new Luigi announcements. This article is hyping up absolutely nothing.

If I’m not mistaken, the Year of Luigi event started around February, so it will only be about an extra month if anything.
Yea, I’m thinking they have one last game starring him as the main character that they couldn’t release this year. Then they’ll drop it.
