Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag creative director Jean Guesdon has explained that they have explored the possibility of future Assassin’s Creed games being set in Feudal Japan. However, Guesdon says that there are plenty of other possible historical settings that could be used in the blockbuster series. He concluded by saying that “the entire human history is our playground.”
“Feudal Japan remains – like numerous other time periods and locations – a possible future setting for the franchise because thanks to the Animus. The entire human history is our playground.”

An Assassin’s Creed game where you are literally a Ninja and stealth plays into your character role even more than ever.

That’s been over done. Just think MOH with Assassins. I can’t wrap my head around that.
Long as there’s actual new mechanics in the game, instead of it playing exactly the same, with the borin combat system.
In Feudal Japan i want awesome samurai fights, i want to bust through shõji doors, have more things i can do while freerunning, have mid-running quick take downs and diverion techniques, not “all the shit that was in 2, but Japan”.
Oh, and fucking ACTUAL STEALTH MECHANICS! You’d think a game centred around assassins would let you do actual assassin stuff.

Haven’t read any comments here indicating confusion about it mate. People only stated that apart from feudal Japan (Personally hoping that this is actually the case for the next game) another interesting option would be WW2
