NES Remix Update Adds New Controller Options

Nintendo of Europe has confirmed that an update for NES Remix is now live and available for download. The version 1.1.0 update will allow players to use new controller options, including the Wii U Pro Controller, Wii Remote and Classic Controller. The update has also seemingly fixed a few mechanical problems to allow for smoother play.

The NES Remix update was rolled out to Japan last night, with Europe following this morning. Nintendo of America has yet to confirm its availability in the region, but they are bound to follow suit in due time. NES Remix is available to purchase from the Wii U eShop.

    1. No this game is a lazy cash grab by Nintendo. Cop on and make proper games, no wonder their financials are in the toilet.

    2. Yes, I LOVE the game. Watch some let’s plays, to make sure it’s for you though. Honestly, it’s probably in my Top 5 games of 2013. I’m a massive NES fan, I thought it was terrific.

    3. I love it, though I was unsure wether to buy it or not, as I buy too many games, and I am often left disappointed. The REMIX parts of the game are the best, where they fuck up everything to make it harder!

  1. Nintendo is setting up to forgo the tablet controller as an exclusive packaged item and only have it as required for certain games. The tablet controller should have always been an “enhancement” much like the kinect is for xbox, to ease the consumer in and reduce the install cost. The wii was a entirely new interface, but it was essentially a gamecube version 2.0 with motion controls, as motion controls were actually developed for use on gamecube.
Reducing the tablet controller as definitive will also allow 3rd party easier access to port games to the console as they will not have to code for the controller if they dont want to. Less resources involved in developing=less risk for them. Nintendo really shot themselves in the foot with not releasing more dedicated games to show off the gamepad potential. In reality, only Nintendoland and Game & Wario (two great games imo) are the only games that couldnt be patched to work with a pro/wiimote controller. Every other game can be patched online. SM3DW doesnt really need it, DKCTF will not even need it at all (tablet screen turns off during gameplay) Nintendo really needs to work on their online too. I understand their argument to exclude multiplayer on games such as SM3DW and such, but it really is an old way of thinking. Friends move away and online is much more cooperative. Really a missed opportunity. Hoping they add some kind of real multiplayer element with zelda u, and not only just miiverse integration which is a gimped way to claim online capabilities.
Will be interesting to see what nintendo does over the next year. Same old same old? Or be bold?

        1. I agree with everything said. I mean I cany enjoy new super mario bross wii u with friends or family. Cause I only own the wii u game pad and the wii u pro controller without the easy game mode for the gamepad. Or every other game for that matter.

    1. Agreed. The games control just like they always did.
I like this title but it felt like an ad for the current Nintendo VC offerings. It covers their first couple years but could use some DLC or a sequel.
I would have preferred Punch-Out or Rad Racer to Wrecking Crew challenges.

  2. It was a shocking moment to see that they brought this out, I bought it instantly but I’m not gonna lie it didn’t grab my attention in anyway.

I think Nintendo thought it was a great idea and it is, I think I just want different games as these NES games I have played way too many times to even be bothered.

  3. i’m under the impression that it’s for newcomers to Nintendo who don’t want to buy all the classics, like a sampler plate.

  4. Well the challenges are different its like a phone game with the whole 3 star element and the stamps for achievements, it just didn’t grab me in anyway I don’t know why though :( but maybe a sues or n64 remix would excite me more

    1. nes remix would be a great phone game. Offer something akin to angry birds friends and have different goals each week. (speed runs, collection, ect.)

  5. And Why The FUCK wasnt that in that in there since launch? It cant be that hard to map buttons to a different controller..

  6. I wonder if this and the DKC:TF news are a sign that a gamepad-less variant of the Wii U is coming, possibly packaged with a Pro Controller instead. Wouldn’t be the worst idea, all things considered. They could probably sell it for a lot less that the deluxe model. Then just release the gamepad separately.

  7. Since this is a one-player game and everyone owns a Gamepad, I agree with the people suspecting this is a sign that a non-gamepad version of the Wii U is on its way.

  8. I do accept as true with all the ideas you’ve presented for your post. They’re really convincing and can definitely work. Still, the posts are too quick for starters. Could you please prolong them a little from next time? Thanks for the post.

  9. Undeniably believe that which you said. Your favorite justification seemed to be on the net the simplest factor to be mindful of. I say to you, I certainly get irked even as other folks consider issues that they just do not know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and also outlined out the entire thing without having side-effects , other folks could take a signal. Will likely be again to get more. Thank you
