Today, Ubisoft shared impressive pre-order figures for Watch Dogs, which is now the most pre-ordered new IP in Ubisoft’s history and the most pre-ordered new IP in the entire industry this year. Watch Dogs is also the second- highest pre-ordered Ubisoft game ever. Watch Dogs will be available on May 27 for PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, PlayStation3 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system, Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows PC, as well as its release on Wii U system at a later date.
“These strong pre-orders are a clear indication of players’ anticipation and excitement for Watch Dogs,” said Geoffroy Sardin, Senior VP Sales and Marketing at Ubisoft. “The teams have worked tirelessly to ensure that players will enjoy a top quality game with enormous scope, and we can’t wait to get the game into their hands.”
“We are seeing tremendous excitement for the new Watch Dogs game,” said Michael van den Berg, vice president of Merchandising at GameStop International. “In fact, Watch Dogs is the highest pre-ordered next-generation console game to date. Tough shit, really, since the days of one single console having a majority of 3rd party games is over. You either adapt or you just stop playing video games. well it was put on hold for a few months, I might pick up the game depending on stuff, but be warn if this game gets annual year’s release like assassin creed, I only buy the one
Same here. I’m pretty excited Ubisoft has a dedicated team customizing it for the WiiU. I’m definitely picking it up, but will not get pulled into yearly releases. Quality DLC? Maybe.

I wonder which console preorders there are more of. If the Wii U version sells more than any other console like Rayman Legends did, I will laugh my ass off as I’m one of the people that thinks Ubisoft delayed it so the other versions could cannibalize the Wii U’s sales, and they could use it’s bad sales to drop their so called support for the Wii U. Oh how sweet it’d be! ^.^
Sadly it absolutely won’t. It’s sales will be underwhelming on Wii U. Hell, I’m probably not going to buy it. As much as I want to encourage third parties to come over to Wii U, I’m not going to waste my money on a game I probably don’t want.
