This week’s Japanese sales data is now in courtesy of Media Create. It continues to be a poor week for hardware sales in the country with the Nintendo 3DS selling 23K and the Wii U managing 9K. The Wii U outsold the PlayStation 4 this week despite Infamous: Second Son launching. Here’s the Japanese software and hardware charts.

Also, it’s weird that the Wii U outsold the PS4, because when you look at the list of best selling games, Wii U is not even on it. So that means people are buying Wii U’s with no games. They MUSt be gearing up for the release of Mario Kart 8.

I’m still trying to figure out why graphics whores make up over 100,000 each month for PS4 sales in US and still buy weaker consoles’s games to make top ten best sellers.

Why would you buy the original 3DS when you can buy a 3DS XL when you want bigger screens or 2DS when you can get the same for cheaper because be fair, the minority got it for the 3D and uses it almost every day…
I know that I wouldn’t got a 3DS when it was the regular one, way to small and corny for my taste, the XL is much better. Next time I hope they will release it on the same day because now it only makes sense to do it. We know it will come eventually and allot of people will wait for it so it only creates the illusion of no interest while people are just waiting for the better version they know will come.
Just imagine what would happen when MK8 releases… Wii U top of the charts!
This just the tip of the iceberg for what’s to come in the next few days. Now, this just needs to happen everywhere else. It probably will, but we’ll just have to wait and see. But, I must question why a bunch of people would buy regular wii us for mario kart if the mario kart bundle is coming out soon. I guess they don’t know about. Oh well.

Man console gaming in Japan is just so strange at the moment. Can’t wait to get Mario Kart 8, would hope the bundles in UK / Europe make a bit of an impact to our territory sales.
That’s about 2k more Wii U’s sold than last time. I wonder if Mario Kart 8 will boost sales? It will be interesting to see the next sales chart.

I am sorry to be a party poopper but I am try to see the mid and long term, yes it’s a good new but it’s just 1 week so far and PS4 is available in Japan since February 2014. I would not even a second gloss about the fact wii U outsell the PS4 for a week. let’s see how the things go in 6 months time and then we can celebrate.

No what’s sad is with PS4 software tittles hardly stay in top ten list like PS3 or 3DS tittles, when a PS4 exclusive arrives Sony won’t be as desperate in making the game really good because the PS4 doesn’t need games to sale. At least with Wii U not doing good, it let’s Nintendo really see what we really want. All that money Sony put into the PS4 to make good graphics and players are still buying PS3 tittles. Its not even being bought for the right reason.
People are buying PS4s for a Roku or Apple TV. Lack of software tittles in top ten and can breach hardware above 100k each month proves that.
