Gametrailers Countdown: Top 10 E3 Train Wrecks

GameTrailers have listed what they declare as the top ten E3 train wrecks of all-time. Interestingly they’ve listed the Wii Music unveiling as the ninth most cringe worthy moment of E3. However, that hasn’t topped The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword live demonstration back in 2010 which has made the number one position.

10. Battle Tag (Ubisoft 2010)
9. Wii Music (Nintendo 2008)
8. Rock Revolution (Konami 2008)
7. Mr. Caffeine (Ubisoft 2011)
6. Battlefield 4 (Microsoft 2013)
5. Sony 2006
4. Konami 2010
3. Disney 2007
2. Activision 2007
1. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (Nintendo 2010)

    1. Not really. The picks are right but the placement of Skyward Sword shouldn’t be no.1, maybe Wii Music.

    1. Skyward Sword should in no way be number 1 because a) the E3 otherwise was the best one of that year and b) Konami, Mr. Caffeine and Wii Music where a lot worse and lot longer. Konami is by far the clear winner here. Not just bad, not just awkward…downright scary

    1. Yes, the aiming didn’t work at all. They claimed interference from all the other bluetooth devices in the room.

It was quite bad. But under no circumstances can it possibly be considered worse than Battle Tag, Wii Music, Kinect never working correct/pre scripted kinect videos or any of the awful presenters third parties use all the time.

  1. IMO, Ocarina of Time is still the best game ever made. Never played Skyward Sword though. And judging by what people keep saying, I think it’s like a Sonic Lost World situation. I might enjoy it a lot or it might be a severe letdown.

    1. I would agree with that. The controls are REALLY interesting. I personally enjoyed them, but alot of people were annoyed. Other than that, the game is much more linear than most other Zelda games, but they focused a ton on the story, which was INCREDIBLE.

    2. Don’t let anything that any negative idiot says about Skyward Sword stop you from playing it. It was a super fun, awesome game. I loved it MUCH more than Twilight Princess. And I myself never really understood all of the negaivity surrounding the game.

    3. Tallon Ridley XIII: Kalas

What Lone Pirate said. Buy Skyward Sword if you can. It’s worth it. It’s not the most non linear Zelda but the story is one of the best so far. And Zelda is actually given a lot more screen time & character development than previous titles in the series.

        1. Tallon Ridley XIII: Kalas

In Twilight Princess, you only see her about 3 times. And the only character development we got from her was “she was willing to sacrifice herself for her people.” Which is something every Zelda has, anyway, so that’s about it from her.

  2. I can already feel the butthurt incoming from the Nintendo fanboys because their precious Skyward Sword failed

          1. Oh, look. Another toddler who learned how to type and likes to ignore previous comments acknowledging the weird e3 for ss, just to say the word butthurt. Yay. Go home, kid.

              1. IronicAlly I am a bigger social degenerate with a love for having super greasy hair. I use the same type of shampoo Sasori uses.

            1. And wasn’t I replying to someone who said “Skyword Sword wasn’t their favorite Zelda tittle anyway.”? So I was basing my comment on his, retarded fuckhead. Yay. Go home, kid.

    1. Chozodian Emissary

Skyward Sword didn’t fail. The E3 presentation had hick ups, now you might have an idea as to why Nintendo has opted to do their Directs for E3. Among many other reasons.

        1. Tallon Ridley XIII: Kalas

You wish they were running out of money, so they could go 3rd party so you can be as cheap as the other big name 3rd parties & only have to pay money for 1 or 2 consoles instead of 3.

    2. Tallon Ridley XIII: Kalas

It’s okay, Sasori of Insults. We know you can’t afford the high quality of Nintendo titles so you stick with the other consoles which will eventually get a price drop of their games in only the first 6 months to a year of it’s release. Only the presentation of Skyward Sword failed. Now go bullshit somewhere else, Sasori wannabe.

  3. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

Of course they are going to choose our empire first…

Even if the Xbots or anyone else killed their audience, they would still be biased enough to bash our empire first…

    1. Tallon Ridley XIII: Kalas

Skyward Sword’s E3 presentation really should be switched with Wii Music. Well this proves it. Gametrailers apparently hates Zelda having a story & timeline since Skyward Sword was full of story & actually had a placement in the timeline during it’s production instead of during post-production..

  4. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

And keep in mind comrades, these are the same fools that wanted all those idiotic things in the last topic…

    1. I know! Sad. They used to seem like they had good ideas and sense or at least good production. Now they’re like a bad combo of upworthy and buzz feed.

  5. Mr. Caffeine is responsible for the only E3 presentation that (outside of the game being showcased) I can actually recall the specifics of. Gotta give the man his due.

  6. I would have added NintendoLand. My personal most disappointing E3 moment. The one that went on and on and on (even during the developer roundtable).

  7. i know its about e3, but sad to see skyward sword being so underrated. its by far one of the best games ever. im sure in ~10 years people will remember it as a masterpiece.

    1. Tallon Ridley XIII: Kalas

Just like they have with Wind Waker. I still remember the outcry because it wasn’t “realistic.” Hell! I’m ashamed to say I was apart of those people… till I actually watched the trailer for Wind Waker on the Ocarina of Time Master Quest preorder bonus disc & that music from the title screen started playing.

  8. Lol that presentation was horrible I couldn’t even finish watching lol but skyward sword is an amazing game IMO and the controls in no way reflect how bad they made it look in the presentation
