Variety is reporting that legendary video game developer Shigeru Miyamoto will be unveiling a Pikmin Movie at the Tokyo Festival. The publication says that the the film is a compilation of three shorts:
“The Night Juicer,” in which Captain Olimar makes his favorite juice; “Treasures in a Bottle,” in which Pikmin meet a strange treasure; and “Occupational Hazards,” an adventure at a construction site.
The project which is spearheaded by Mr Miyamoto is part of a research project for the Kyoto based company. The Tokyo International Film Festival begins on October 25th -31st.

Give me a Legend of Zelda movie by Nintendo themselves & I’ll be a very happy man. Least they won’t fuck it up with cheesy lines if they get a serious anime director involved.

Pikmin is my favorite franchise I hope they make a Pikmin 4 like Pikmin 2 was. It was stupid to put less enemies on Pikmin 3. Also stupid for not making underground tunnels. Stupid for not thinking of online play during the time of Pikmin 3 development. Also stupid for making the characters needing to survive on food yet on Pikmin 1&2 they didn’t.
Pikmin movie? Interesting. I wonder how many years it will be before we hear about a Pikmin 4? Pikmin 3 was good, but it was too short. But I didn’t like the whole fruit collecting concept, as opposed to treasure collecting. Collecting treasure (and real life products) was SO much more interesting than just nothing but fruit. I hope Pikmin 4 brings the treasure collecting back.

Cool. I look forward to this. I’d rather get a Zelda movie BY Nintendo themselves. Just keep the guys involved with the CDi or Legend of Zelda cartoon from the late 80s/early 90s far, FAR away from it.
Oh & with a Zelda movie, they could test the waters for a talking Link. Least if the movie sucks, it won’t tarnish the games by Nintendo.
