    1. The game hasn’t even been up for preorder for 24 hours and they’re already trying to take advantage of people? I sometimes defend gamestop but this is one of the shittiest moves I’ve ever seen from a retailer. If you want the $50 collectors edition you have to pay an extra $35 for a shitty strategy guide. Seriously who uses strategy guides, doesn’t that eliminate the whole purpose of playing a game. You’re gonna read what’s about to happen and you’ll know how to beat it. What’s the point of playing the game then? All the challenge and surprise is gone. People who use strategy guides are retarded.

      1. I agree 100%. I’ll mention that if you are one of those people that want to spoil the game for yourself, why buy a guide? Google is a lot cheaper and can instantly give you the answer without flipping through pages and spoiling even more while looking for your answer.

      2. It’s a collectors thing. These hardcover strategy guides are well made and hardcover. They sold a pack with all of 6 of them previously. The strategy guide as a standalone item is $35 so it’s not like they’re marking up the price at all. Personally, in the past I’ve used a strategy guide in Zelda for miscellaneous items like finding all the bugs in Twilight Princess. I could see the same move being made to buy this strategy guide for the masks alone. All masks aren’t part of the overall story line, you don’t even need them all to beat the game, so it won’t spoil it for you. It wasn’t worth the purchase, but it’s got a collector’s aspect to it.

      3. I agree. It’s crap! I had to buy the Ultimate because that was the only one left. Anyone want to buy the strategy guide from me? LOL 50% off!

      1. I’d prefer the one without the strategy guide (because it is cheaper), but I really want the figure, so I’m willing. If I really just want the game I’m sure I’ll be able to sell the figure for quite a bit if I change my mind.

  1. I wouldn’t be surprised if they somehow sold them as “Used” like they did with the Xenoblade copies they held on to. Even if they are new, let’s see how many of their employees take out the statue and Club Nintendo inserts prior to you getting it.

To answer your question no, I don’t support corrupt-minded businesses if I can help it.

    1. agreed. on principle I don’t buy things from Gamestop unless it’s when they have super low prices on used games like buy 2 get 1 free and you are able to get three decent games for like $6. How in hell can they no longer have the Limited Edition but somehow have them for the bundle? Essentially they are forcing people to buy the book for $35 which I am sure they are marking up 300%. GS really is just about the worst retailer there is. I can never understand why people still shop there when you can always…and I mean always…beat their prices on Amazon, Target, Best Buy or Fry’s.

  2. I don’t buy that sold out story. They (GS) are holding the games to sell them with a higher price tag. Somebody has to do something about this. I think this is illegal and immoral.

    1. lol. “Illegal and immoral”. They can do whatever the hell they want with the product they’re selling. They allocated a certain number of the limited editions for being sold separately, and some for their new bundle.

  3. Just so you guys know, you can go into the store today, and do what’s call a web in store order for just the game and statute at regular price. I just did mine, but that was about an hour ago and I can’t promise that they have any copies left like this

    1. I can confirm that also I just came from the GS in my area and the was offered the same thing but I got it online earlyer so there was no need I am good with just one Im not greedy.lol

  4. Nintendo needs to crack down on this behavior. They talk about not liking limited edition items being resold on ebay, but they allow business partners to do this crap. Gamestop is the worst example of bad retailer behavior (especially since you know employees will open the package and take what they want before they hand it over).

    1. Or maybe Nintendo needs to make some changes to how they offer limited/collector editions such as this – either sell it directly, change the price, or have some other strategy – but even then, you’ll never fully stop people from selling it on ebay.
Also, wtf at “the employees will open the package and take what they want”. Uh, no they won’t. Otherwise they’d be fired. Good grief, the ignorance of some people…

      1. I’m pretty sure he was referring to the club Nintendo stuff inside. If they are sold used they can take that stuff. You don’t sound familiar with GameStop. They are licensed to local business owners who allow their employees to use very bad business practices. It wouldn’t surprise me if they actually did take stuff out.

  5. I just got the limited edition one. The one with the figure only and I was wondering if it came with the game as well. Does anyone know?

  6. Everyone buying this set is kinda dumb or overly obsessed.. it’s just an upcoming Skull kid figure from Jakks WON 6 inch figure line with a base, and maybe, maaaybe, better paint apps.
This same figure will be available for $14.99 in the toy aisle later this year.
I love special editions… but only when the content included is actually special.
I rather it be a Skull Kid statue, and also included you get a poster and a pin set and a bonus OST CD.

That’s how you do special editions, don’t buy lame editions… or it’ll just keep getting worse.

Eventually it’ll be… for $100.00 extra you get a five cent triforce keychain with your new Zelda game!!!!

    1. “This same figure will be available for $14.99 in the toy aisle later this year.”

No it won’t. Can you find the Ganondorf figurine from the Wind Waker LE in stores? No. That’s the thing about a figurine that’s “limited” – they won’t mass produce it outside of this offer.

        1. A picture of concept art from the game in place of an actual product doesn’t necessarily equate to it being the exact model. Regardless, 99% of the time with these limited edition items, they never release them again outside of the production run for the set. There’s also no price point yet – and considering that (if you actually were able to pre-order it), you essentially got the figure for 10 bucks extra. The current Jakks figures are going for up to twice that right now on Amazon (varying prices, but obviously the more popular ones like Link are more expensive, so it’s probably that Skull Kid will be similar in popularity and price).

    1. And the Player’s Guide is $35 separately. They were just offering it together with the LE to try to sell copies of the guide.

  7. Another old news article. Always posting the news late. Amazon article is late and posted when Amazon was sold out. Now the GameStop article is posted and the “add to cart” feature does not work meaning it’s sold-out.

    1. Sadly yes. The article was posted about an hour ago, and I just checked it a few minutes and it was available. Sorry.

  8. Scam Artists… Does Gamestop Struggle To Make Money That They Have To Up The Price On Special Edition Things???

    1. Most people feel the same way. They make it for the sheep that think every “special edition” is going to be worth millions in the future.

      1. I’m not getting it because I think it’ll be worth something in the future. I’m getting it because I like Limited/Collector’s editions and I want a cool figurine to display in my glass cabinet. Regardless, it may not garner a lot of worth in the future, but it’s going for hefty price in comparison to it’s MSRP right now.

  9. bros there’s still some hope for those that haven’t preordered yet. A lot of people are saying that gamestop will begin taking in-store preorders of the regular limited edition bundle starting tm, 01/07. I’d call your local lamestop to confirm this.

      1. BAABAAH whatever you say wont sway the cattle masses BAAAH

Bitch you should know better by now, I dare say you’ve let me down D:

          1. You failed to even leave a dent on the amiibo hype, what makes you think you can stop something that has an even bigger cult following?

A nice bowl of soup such as yourself should simply remain as such.

            1. You can’t know that for sure, so I will continue to try.
Oh, and I will always be a nice bowl of soup, probably.

        1. You forgot the uselessness of the toy. You failed to mention that the toy will either end up in a box or thrown in the garbage. Plastic does not decompose. It will not be worth more then the $10 you spend on it. It is a gimmick to squeeze $10 more from you so that they can fly in private jets.

          1. Jeez, if you think about it like that…. Even so, you can’t deny the fact that the figure looks decent. I would have preferred an art book or a plushie, but oh well.

          2. You can apply that “logic” to any product, especially other toys and display items. Theorizing how someone will use an item is just you spouting inane bullshit. Welcome to the real world. In the eyes of someone, anything can be considered “useless”, and all items lose their inherent value after purchase. What’s your fucking point? Goddamn, you’re an idiot.

  10. $35 dollars for a strategy guide! because the one with just the figure was $50. I almost preordered it from them this morning but didn’t and I’m glad I didn’t because I hate them. and when I hate you, you don’t get my money.

  11. Omg gamestop is so evil! They must die! How dare a business try to legally make money!! How dare they!

    #sarcasm

    1. It’s legal (obviously), but it is unethical to take advantage of your customers like that.

I don’t HAVE to shop at gamestop if they are unethical.

  12. While this is not completely Nintendo’s fault its a shame that special edition stuff like this disappears so quickly. Good for their pockets I guess but they could make so much more money by quadrupling the amount of stock they ship out.

  13. It’s times like this that I have to tell myself, “who cares about a toy anyways”? And then just buy the game itself.

    1. It’s more of a collectible than a toy, but yea I agree. Just the game for me. Besides my shelf space is running low.

      1. I myself have NEVER had shelf space. I have to keep everything stored in cardboard boxes because there’s nowhere to put anything. I even gave a lot of my Nintendo toys to my niece. I’ve decided to collect only the more unique toys and figurines.

  14. I pre-ordered my majora’s mask ultimate limited edition bundle online for GameStop 30 minutes before it sold out. Right after it sold out my order magically disappeared. I waited half an hour for customer services and they couldn’t help. I’ve been playing the series since I was 5. All I wanted was to get this for my birthday which would of marked 15 years of playing. I’m not usually one to buy into this stuff but it was the first video game I played.

  15. FUCK YOU GAMESTOP! I JUST WANT NICE THINGS AND ALL YOU WANT IS MY MONEY! FIST YOU OVERPRICE THE GAMECUBE ADAPTER, THEN THIS! I AM NOT MADE OF MONEY! ITS OBVIOUS YOU HAVE MORE LIMITED EDITION COPIES SO JUST LET PEOPLE DECIDE FOR THEMSELVES IF THEY WANT THE GUIDE

  16. With their rewards card 10% off strat guides and another 10% discounts for buying a guide when you buy a game, this bundle screws you out of saving up to 20% on the guide.

  17. I went to a GameStop store and they ordered for me the limited edition without the guide do it was $55 with taxes. It’ll be shipped to the store, it just takes 1 week to get there after release, or if you want iron day one it’s a $11 shipping fee.

  18. Announcing this is like saying that Santa Claus has delivered a special gift to everyone. Unfortunately that gift was a bag of reindeer droppings. Meaning, the post gets people excited, until they see the asinine price.

  19. Wow… I refuse to buy the Majora’s mask collector’s Edition if I can only find it at hiked prices.

I’m sick of Nintendo not selling enough product.

I will not drop that kind of money for a game that I can get for $40 on the first day of release.

Hopefully for my sake they sell more collector’s editions, but based on how they handle amiibos… I doubt it…

  20. Are you kidding me what a bunch shit yesterday it was 50 dollars now they are charging it 80 fuck you gamestop that really pisses me off I was going to buy it cheap bastards fuck yoûuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
