Nintendo Is Apparently Holding A Media Event On The 14th Of January

There’s a rumour going round Twitter that Nintendo of America or Nintendo Europe will be holding their own media event on the 14th of January. Generally this means that information leaks out to the general public the next day. We are still holding our breaths for a Nintendo Direct this month, so there’s a possibility that there’s one coming shortly to show off the things shown to the press.

Thanks, Ahmad

        1. Ridley, the Angel of Death

I sure hope they reveal there are more than just 2 big games releasing during January, February, & March in a Nintendo Direct so I can laugh at comments like this.

    1. Why havent yall posted about the rumored list going around? I mean its 100% fake but still news that pertains to this

    1. Star Fox is releasing this year so it would make sense for Nintendo to at least show off how far the game is coming along in a Direct but then again Miyamoto was never clear as to when Star Fox will first be shown. He only said that the game will be playable at this year’s E3 so it could most likely still be shown at this alleged upcoming Direct or a upcoming Direct before E3

      1. Yeah, tell the truth, I’m surprised we haven’t seen it yet. I’m just hoping it’s gonna give me that exciting feeling that I used to get waiting for games. Can’t wait for this E3.

        1. Yeah man I’ve played all of them from the original one on the SNES, Star Fox 64 (my favorite), Star Fox Adventures, and my least favorite which is Star Fox Assault. But yeah I really hope that Nintendo incorporates ideas from Star Fox 64 and Star Fox Adventures and then put in their own little new twist in the new Star Fox. I can’t wait to see how that game has developed

  2. I hope this is for the New 3DS models. I need to know how much money I can spend without not having enough for the XL.

    1. It’s going to be 169€ in Europe, according to the mail they sent out regarding the ambassador edition. For the US, it’s most likely going to be $169 then.

      1. So pretty much the same prices as the 3DS & 3DS XL? 3DS was $170 before it was discontinued, and XL is currently $200. I tried running the numbers through but I’m not proficient in all the importing and tariffs and stuff. I was hoping the New XL would be $200.

        1. Oh sorry, forgot to mention that I was talking about the regular sized one, but you seem to have figured already. :p
And yes, I’d also assume that the XL is going to be at $200, similar to how it was with the previous models, as you’ve said.

          1. That really does seem the most logical, since the New models are intended to replace the current ones (aside from the budget 2DS of course). I really should stop worrying so much. Thank you :)

      2. I paid the equivalent of $270 (£180) to get my New 3DS. That better not be the final price, as that’s the equivalent to $199. DAMN NINTENDO EUROPE, ALWAYS MESSING UP STUFF

        1. Europe is always pricier than the US, when it comes to video games… or electronics…. or pretty much everything, lmao.
The UK, unfortunately, is even more expensive than the rest of Europe (or, countries with the € as their currency at least), so you’ll always be paying more than most people.
But yea, the prices usually don’t get converted, but instead, both the US and Europe have to pay the same “number” (in this case, 169), but not the same “value”; Europe always has to pay more in value, as both British Pounds and the Euro are worth more than the US Dollar. Hard to put into words, but I hope you understand what I’m trying to say, haha.

  3. That’s all I need to see. Hopefully it DOES lead to a Direct, where they will hopefully show off Yoshi’s Wooly World, Majoras Mask 3D, Mario Maker at the very least…

  4. I’m almost certain it’s going to be about the new 3DS. The deadline for ordering the special ambassador edition is on the 13th, can’t be much of a coincidence that there’s going to be a Direct (or whatever it’s going to be) so soon after. They probably wanted to make “the chosen ones” believe that they’ll get the system a long while earlier than everyone else, to encourage as many of them as possible to buy it. The whole “ambassador edition” promotion already indicated that the official release date can’t be too far away anymore.

  5. I wouldn’t be surprised if we get a Direct after this, since normal directs are usually on a Thursday (at least I think they usually are).

  6. Ok….now we’re talking. Hopefully there is information on a Direct coming from this media briefing. With both Devil’s Third and Xenoblade Chronicles X in their final development stages and with Kirby And The Rainbow Curse launching next month, Mario Kart 8 Animal Crossing DLC coming in May and Splatoon, Mario Maker and Yoshi’s Wooly World slated for early 1st quarter 2015 releases it would make complete sense to show us updates on all of those titles as well as maybe localization information on Fatal Frame and a new game tease that no one will see coming like Hyrule Warriors and Bayonetta 2

  8. I predict that there will be
    -New 3DS release date
    -Majora’s Mask 3D release date
    -Splatoon release date
    -Devil’s Third release date
    -Yoshi’s WW release date
-New trailers for upcoming Wii U and 3DS games.
And… That’s it. I didn’t put Star Fox or Zelda in there cause they’re more than likely saving that for E3.

  9. Games I want Nintendo to announce this year

Paper Mario -Wii U (not this sticker star or super paper BS)

Metroid -both 3DS and Wii U

Dates for star fox and Zelda

    Eternal darkness – Wii U

Ice climbers – Wii U (a skyrim like RPG)

Cheap casual games for the 3DS stuff like cooking mama and also a ounce that the QOL devision well now over see these types of games (brain age and other educational stuff) as well as bringing these kind of games to things like windows and android (in moderation)

More cross over games and stuff made by other studios like Hyrule warriors

    A new M rated IP

    And more HD remakes

    A new Pokemon snap

    A poke.on stadiam app for Wii U that works for x & Y as well as Omega/alpha

New none gaming projects would also be welcome!!!!!!!!!!

    1. Agree with everythimg except non video game projects.Qhy I will need that sleep gatget.
I choose this hovby because its fun, not because I need it.

  10. since its Sunday i believe they’ll announce it on Monday. if its an event on the 14th and invite only they usually put the direct on before or after. i remember the november direct and the gamexplain guys had already seen and played the game,so i imagine we should hear about this really soon

  11. We are Nintendo. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile.
