UK Charts: Super Smash Bros Clings On As Highest Charting Wii U Game

This week’s UK individual charts are now in courtesy of GFK Chart-Track and sales tracker UKIE. Grand Theft Auto V remains the best-selling game in the region as it refuses to move from its string of consecutive weeks at number one. Swinging – or dancing – in roundabouts as the top Wii title is Just Dance 2015 further down the chart at 24, while Super Smash Bros for Wii U slips down just one place from last week’s 27 to 28. And Mario Kart 8 brings up the rear at 37 after its top 20 position the previous week.

In 3DS territory, Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are the best of friends once again and stick together at the bottom of the chart at 38 and 39, respectively. For a full rundown of the individual top 40, just check out the list below. You can also view the all-formats chart, here.

  1. GTA V is awesome so I’m fine with it being at the top. Nice to see Smash Bros on there too. Also nice to see that Far Cry 4 is still in there as well. I haven’t gotten to that one yet but I did start playing Far Cry 3 recently and it’s amazing! O.o I’m pretty sure 4 is just as good too.

    1. I would agree with you if it was still 2013, when the game was released. But it is 2015, it’s time to move on. It’s proof of how weak the third party software line-up is. The fact that a game thats nearly two years old is still dominating the market.

    2. Far Cry 3 is a great game! Unfortunately Far Cry 4 is really Far Cry 3.5.. They even reuse the same animations and character models from FC3.

I was really disappointed with FC 4. Maybe I was expecting too much, but Far Cry 4 was made using leftover FC 3 assets. I was expecting a new game from the ground up…

  2. I’m just glad that Smash Bros for Wii U and Mario Kart 8 are holding their own in the U.K market, hope is still there…

  3. It must suck to be a PS4 or Xbox owner stuck playing one genre of game…….fps and/or sports. Even though Nintendo was stupid making the Wii U like 2015 wasn’t going to come at least I have my variety of genres. Little Big Planet must not be that good. Its not up there like GTA. I wonder why?

    1. What in the world are you talking about? Batman Arkham Knight? The Witcher 3? Infamous Second Son? MGSV? Shadow of Mordor? Alien Isolation? Those are all just shooters and sports games?

    2. I really hope you’re trolling, it would be quite sad if you’re actually serious about what you said, considering the amount of stupidity in your comment.

      1. Minecraft is actually pretty good. I played it last night with my brother and it’s great fun. Although I kind of hate creative mode. I don’t want to be given everything in the game from the start. I want to earn all my stuff and work hard for it. But my stupid brother always goes straight to creative mode…*sigh*

        1. I’ve always liked Minecraft and other sandbox games like it… It, admittedly, has taken at least 500+ hours of my time since I got it. I’m not the biggest fan of Creative Mode unless it has to do with building an adventure map and then playing it on Survival Mode.

          1. I don’t understand the hate for minecraft. first I was like who dafuq plays with these ugly blocks then I watched a few video’s on it and I got interested. so I wanted to try it and got a cracked version and was totaly addicted for a few weeks then I bought it and I still have fun with it. pc version is the best

  4. Generally I don’t learn post on blogs, but I would like to say that this write-up very pressured me to try and do so! Your writing taste has been amazed me. Thanks, quite great article.

  6. I haven’t even cared about playing Smash Bros. Wii U since buying it. It’s just been collecting dust along with all my other games.

    1. I’ve played Smash quite a bit, but I can relate with what your saying. I’m still upset about them taking the story mode out, but anyways. Xenoblade and Zelda are the type of games I get hyped for. I was never hyped for Smash or Mario Kart, even though I absolutely love both of those games.
