Xenoblade Chronicles X Runs At 720p And You Can Use Wii U Pro Controller

Nintendo Japan has confirmed that Xenoblade Chronicles X will run at 720p once it’s released and will also support the wonderful Wii U Pro Controller. Great news for those of you who prefer playing JRPGs with a traditional controller. Xenoblade Chronicles X also supports Off-TV play and may well have USB keyboard support. Of course, the game will also feature some sort of Miiverse functionality.

Thanks, paidenthusiast

    1. Was anybody stupid enough to actually think this game was gonna be 1080p? Isn’t common sense to know that a game this large was not gonna run at 1080p resolution. When they showed the game I I immediately expected 720p and 30 fps.

        1. This whole graphics issue is really ironic
Nintendo fans (in a hurr durr voice): Oh well ps4 and xbone games aren’t 1080p and not 60fps. It doesn’t matter, since wii u still has great games.
News when a game is 60fps and 1080p like smash: OMFG TAKE THAT FUCKING SONY AND MICROSOFT! OUR CONSOLE CAN PLAY MODERN GAMES AT A GREAT RATE!!!!

            1. Hey stranga, do you when when development on this game started? I know it was revealed a the beginning of 2013, but a game this big would have taken years to make…did development really start in 2013?

              1. They said it started in 2011! Thats nearly four years. So yes. Thats how it goes. Good/best games allways takes years to develop. You just don`t invent a Mario-Franchise out of thin air. Is Needs years of Brainstorming to invent some iconic characters, which later becomes a mascot of a Company.

The best games of ALL TIME (e.g. half Life 2, for me ist the best shooter ever made, no one even Comes Close to it after that game)- even take FIVE years to make.

IronFall Invasion for 3DS, was also THREE years in Progress for 3DS/new 3DS. And ist NOT an exclusive New 3DS-game, but it takes some Advantage of New 3DS-tech.

            2. @Stranga But then that only leads to more wars. When you tell someone the Wii U games that run in 1080P 60FPS, they’re going to tell you all the games that aren’t on the Wii U. Lol.

                1. Lol my cousin was angry because Destiny was taking like 10 minutes to load. I’m not sure whether it’s a problem with his PS3 or just the game itself. But that was hilarious. XD

            3. Smash runs at 1080/60 because it’s not a demanding game.
The other consoles could run it at the same, and have significant power to spare.

Graphics don’t mean much to me, but running Smash at 1080/60 doesn’t make the U powerful. It’s Smash..

              1. And yet, doesn’t excuse how Battlefield 4 ran like a POS, why Ghosts sucks, why Watchdogs is a buggy ass false promise, why Assassin’s Creed Unity is a travesty with that creepy ass facial bug, why DriverClub launch in such a disaster equivalent to PSN’s crappy service (and for $50 a year just to get hack fucked every week?!) and also why The Crew plus Destiny is a lackluster scam.

                  1. Well i tell you a secret:

ist not a bout quantitiy of games i Play through. But rather the QUALITY of them.

While others Play each years the same crappy Call of Duty (which gets worse each year a new one Comes out), and battlefield and other games which are annual now (Assasins Creed etc)- i Play just through 10-20 per year. But those games are having good stories, will last in my Memory forever- and those games have nearly no bugs and are not feeded with DLC for 50 Dollars each – or microtransactions (like newest Assassins Creed Unity) or other crap to get People milked.

I have a good PC. And with that i Play rarely only the GEMS of the multi-platform-games, which are out. This gen those GEMS are- well i would say Metal Gear Solid 5 (which is coming for PC also), StarCitizen, the coming new Rollercoaster Tycoon for PC (in 2 months) and a few other Chosen ones. but thats it. The rest i´m playing on my console or on my handhelds. Handhelds gets by far the most games, even more then PC now.

              2. Not demanding? Are you kidding me? Smash on the 3DS maxes that system out. It maxed it out so much, that they couldn’t get 4 Ice Climber characters to fully function on it.

The amount of processing required for a game as technical as Smash is ridiculous. The AI alone is pretty beastly, not to mention all the different background things going on. They had to cut stages for 8 player smash, and in the recent free DLC, cut background objects and animations to add new stages to 8 player smash, because it’s far too taxing for the system. If a game like Smash is so undemanding, why wasn’t Playstation All Stars Battle Royal even native 1080p on PS3? Yes, the PS3 is weaker than Wii U, but it had a handful of 1080p native games on it, so why not an “undemanding” 4 player fighting game?

The fact that Wii U can run Smash Bros in 1080p Native, 60fps and have 8 player smash battles, DOES make the Wii U powerful. VERY powerful, and very optimized. It’s not even maxed out either. Now, if you had said that Mario 3D world, or Captain Toad didn’t make the case for the power of Wii U, with their 1080p/60fps games, then yes, I would say that they aren’t all that impressive. Mario Kart and ESPECIALLY Smash Bros? No, that is impressive. You really underestimate just how much Smash taxes a system.

          1. Exactly. When I saw that Smash was 1080p 60 FPS I really didn’t care at all. In fact when Nintendo fans were mentioning it, I was getting pissed off because I really didn’t care and they’re looking like hypocrites. Like every time I watch a video on Smash and someone says “btw this game looks amazing” Deep down in my mind I’m like “STFU I don’t fucking care”

            1. the only reason I cared at all was because of 60fps as Smash is a game requiring that. As for resolution, as log as I can see clearly I’m fine.

        1. There is NO such Thing as “variable framerate”.

All games runs in 30 fps by Standard (or 60 fps). the only exception is a PC.

If your PC is powerful enough, you can run everything in 200 fps. But if ist slow it can also fall down to 10-20 fps… You will never get games made with 40/50 fps in mind. No one is going to do that (because it would Need much more developer-time).

      1. I’m totally cool with any game being 720p, that’s plenty hi-res for me. I do wonder if it’s 30 or 60 fps though. As big as this game is, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to download it though. I’m so stoked!!

          1. How about no?
            They really don’t.
            Similar art style, maybe, but there’s no way you can deny being a graphics whore while simultaneously calling these models PS2 models.-_-;;

      1. Honestly, the character models look better than some of the stuff I’ve seen from other AAA titles in the past three years especially on Wii U games. I guess he just prefers to see cheap wanna-be realistic graphics over stylized anime-esque graphics. It’s really sad to see that people judge graphics solely on their realism.

    1. You really think zelda is going to be 1080p? Hahahahaha- you are serious? Let me laugh harder! Hahahahahahaha!. You cannot get AA with 1080p on WiiU, dude. Ist a fact. Nintendo said that Long ago. So ist either having perfect graphics with AA and everything enabled…or having dumbed down textures, everything else dumbed down, to make the tiny 32 MB graphics-buffer (graphics-ram, not the DDR3 is used for graphics) Fitting! You can only get TWO 1080p-images Fitting in 32 Mbyte of eDRAM! But you would only Need 5 MB for only 720p-images! See the big difference? 16 MB for ONE Image. 16 MB for 1080p-images is without compression, but with compression it still wouldn`t be enough free space to have AA or other big changes.

And no- Single-Images are NOT enough for 1080p-gaming. Ist at LEAST double-buffering (2 x 16 MB) = 32 MB = no space left fo AA, no space left for anything other. Many games on WiiU even have Triple-buffering (which enables V-Sync).

Thats how it goes. The console was made for 720p- NOT for 1080p! And no one ever said or claimed it would have only 1080p-games.

After seeing X C X ist a GIVEn that Zelda won`t run at 1080p. If Zelda would run at 1080p, it would mean ist only 30 fps (meh, like Windwaker), and it would have no AA (jaggies jummy) and no other addtional effects.

My guess: Zelda will be 720p but 60 fps. Just like i want it. I hope they don`t make the stupid decision to sacrifice everything (like they do on PS4/Xbox One) just to get 1080p. Makes no sense doing that.

    1. You bought the same game twice? Dam man.I never ever buy things twice not even nes games that i played so long ago.

                          1. I’m waiting for the Uncharted Collection. :P But I mainly play on my PC for now. To hold me off! I’ve got lots to play. :)

                              1. Huh? What are you talking about? The Nathan Drake Collection has already been announced and it has a release date. It comes before Uncharted 4. XD The cool part about the collection though is that it has the beta of UC4’s multiplayer! So I can have a little taste of it while I catch up on the 3 older games. :)

                                      1. On newer games, yeah. XD But the PS4 should have no problem running these games in 1080P/60 FPS.

                                          1. …Well, that’s the reason I built a gaming PC. XD Gonna use my PS4 for its exclusives.

                                              1. LMAO. It might be a pain at first, but it’s easy after you do it for the first time. Everybody makes mistakes. Like me when I didn’t know how to plug in my USB 3.0 connector and I bent one of the pins. Then when I actual turned it around, I got it in correctly. But it didn’t even work. XD Wish I could rebuild my PC and prevent myself from being stupid. Oh well…

                                                1. If I were an assembler, I would’ve bought and built a PC a long time ago. XP But I’m just a POS common folk of an amateur artist; yes I draw and it’s why I’m keen towards tablets. XP

                                                1. Who cares about resolution,i hope the gameplay is as good as Xenoblade chronicles and i m satisfied. The exploration looks fantastic even if it was 240p i would still buy it.

                                                      1. Are you SURE that you’d play it in 240P? You know what? I think you should remove your HDMI and just play with standard AV or component cables since resolution is no big deal. ;)

                                                1. Dragon age for ps4 is 1080p and i dont rally understand what difference that it makes lol.Looks the same shit to me.Also DAI is for next gen and still have not the things this game has,dam that mech gameplay i cant i want it now.

                                                  1. Just how big (both GB and KM2 wise) is DA:I? Also, it’s on the PS4. The Wii U has 1GB of RAM used for games, and the PS4 has either 2 or 4, I can’t remember.
                                                    There is no comparison.

                                                    1. I m still playing DAI,because of other things i m about 60 hour i think on it.Its big but it looks small compared to this game.

                                                    2. You cannot compare them like that.

Ram is only a ressource. But WiiU uses 6:1 compression for graphics (enabling it to put far more in ist ram with 1 MB vs 1 MB on any other console or even PCs) and Nintendo patented that tech, which therefore cannot be used by any other company. Ist super-efficient 32 bit. Not Memory-wasting 64 bit like on PC, where you literally NEED 8 GB of ram, otherwise your Windows 7/8 is going to run like crap, when playing GTA 5 (because Windows oS alone takes 2-3 GByte of ram).

That is the Point why it makes no sense having less than 8 GB in PCs today. Mainly because ram has become more cheap and that makes peoples use it less efficiently as there is no compression for them. Having much more ram than usual makes the developers also lazy, so that they don`t use any compressioned pics like JPGs or other things like that.

One example? On PS4, they use cheap PNG-Images by standard. One Image is about 10-20 MByte big.

On WiiU you use JPGs by standard. JPGs, you know what they got invented for? Exactly! For the Internet! You have a compression-rate of nearly 90% for JPGs, meaning, ONE JPG with just a bit less image-Quality than the PS4-PNG-image is just 500 KByte big, instead of 5 MByte!

And now think about it: Filling a ONE Gigabyte Ram with just tiny Kilobyte-big Images! How many would you Need? Exactly! Thousands of them!

Think about it: How many PNGs would you Need to fill one Gigabyte on PS4 if one Image is 10 MByte? Exactly! Only ONE hundred! 100 x 10 MB = 1000 MB (= 1 GB).

And on WiiU, you have a perfect compression, enabling it to use high-efficient JPGs, which are 100 x lets say 1 MB = 100 MB. This means you Need at least 1000 Images, to get the 1 GB Limit. That is allready 10x more than PS4 has, the only disadvantage is the bit worse image-Quality. But if you have good filters/AA and such things you can make the Pictures itself better. Ist called Post-Processing.

Sure, PS4 has 4-5 GB ram to use, but ist also using inefficient 64bit-tech, has a bad Netbook-cpu, which has Problems dealing with compressions at all and such things as the cpu itself was NEVER made for the consoles! Is was made for tabletts and Netbooks in mind, which have to just browse the Internet and such things. The cpu of those consoles (PS4 & Xbox One) wasn`t made for high-end gaming.

                                                      1. All you rich bastards commenting saying “You should get fuicvjsdl;k” bullshit. When im sitting here with no job, no 3ds, no wii u but just a ps3 which cant connect to the internet because my brother got it banned from PSN and a wii which doesnt work anymore. FUCK MAN

                                                        1. Huh? I’m not rich. I was just suggesting that he get a GTX 970 because it’s a really good graphics card. I don’t even own a PC myself. I only own a 3DS and a Wii U.

                                                1. You have no life , your a failure at life! How do you profit from Nintendo failing? Does Sony and or Microsoft give u anything in return by saying Nintendo is a failure? The answer to both is no. Nothing good will come out of you tolling. Go to your console of choice and stay there.

                                                2. Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros for Wii U say hi. Also, 720p 1080p, it’s still HD right? I have no intentions of owning the Xbox One, but it infuriates me when a game gets announced and runs at 720p or 900p, people get angry at it. 720p and 900p is still HD, in the same way as 1080p is HD. As long as this game runs at a smooth 60 fps, then I am completely fine with it not being 1080p. Again, I have never owned an Xbox console and have no intentions of ever owning one, but this whole resolution thing is really pissing me off…

                                                    1. And Hollow still has no Wii U. lol

Anyway, WTF people are getting so worked up over fucking resolutions? Just like PS4, we’ve seen Wii U being capable for 1080p/60FPS before and that’s all it matters; Wii U is capable but what’s more important is if you’ll have fun with the games or not. I don’t buy games for fucking resolutions you know.

                                                  1. Most people dont even know the difference, they will look at some games running at 1080p and say that the game is 720p or they could be looking at 720p and think its 1080p.They just want to bitch thats what bitches do.

                                                  1. Do you even know how to read, or did you just read part of my comment. Here, I’ll quote what I said-“I have no intentions of owning the Xbox One.” and “. Again, I have never owned an Xbox console and have no intentions of ever owning one.” Remember, we’ve had this conversation before and I will once again prove that I am not an Xbot…

                                                    1. And your newbie existence hasn’t know the TRUE Sasori yet not seen his retarded YouTube account of hateful and yet, DUMBASS Anti-Nintendo rants and Xbox/Call of Duty praises. You got some catching up to do dude.

                                                      1. Who says that I am trying to be anything like that dumbass…Don’t believe me? You can check out my channel, it’s the same as my MyNintendoNews username. You will find no Anti Nintendo rants and all of my Video Game videos are from Nintendo consoles…

                                                    2. O.H and that Infuriates me part, it was aimed at resolution whores that come out of the Woodwork whenever a game is confirmed to be 720p on Wii U, but go hide in a hole, never to be seen, when a game, like Smash Bros, is confirmed to be 1080p. It’s for those people. I hate it when people brag and complain about resolution, like they are comparing the size of there privates…

                                                      1. They need to remember: PS3/360 was never truly HD. It just upscales 480p to 720p with more details displayed. That’s it. Even the PS4 has issues achieving 1080p at times so technically all of this BS resolution spaz is ridiculous.

                                                        1. Wait so your saying the ps4 can’t reach 1080p but the Wii u can. If so than the Wii u tech needs a look over again. I’ve heard it’s capable of emulating graphics that look like ps4.

                                                                1. I'm a Boss Ass Bitch

Dude that wasn’t supposed to be fucking direct to you. But since you replied your a fucking shit bag who needs to get his dick out of his ass.

                                                                    1. I'm a Boss Ass Bitch

I don’t have time this childish bullshit. I’m going to act fucking civilized, unlike you and drop this bullshit of a conversation.

                                                                2. Both can reach Native and Upscaled 1080p. It depends on teh game. for example, DA:I on the PS4 runs at 1080p/60FPS, while the same is true of Smash Bros U. There are some games on teh PS4 that are not 1080/60, and there are some on teh Wii U. If FFXV is 1080/60, then I see no reason why X can’t be. however both are massive games that will put a large strain on teh system (not actually), so they’ll probs both run at 720/60. I would have preferred 1080/30, but that’s just me.

                                                                  1. wait…what?

“If FFXV is 1080/60, then I see no reason why X can’t be.”

There is a reason! Witcher 3 will be 100km 2 big. But Xenoblade Chronicles X will be 400km 2 big!

And FF15 won`t be a true-open world game as we know yet. It will only have good graphics as far as is known right now. FF15 won`T have a world as big as 400km 2 where you can fly with your mechs! FF15 won`t even have a fast-running mode!

You cannot ´compare those games. And like i said: Even Witcher 3 will be much SMALLER than Xenoblade Chronicles X! By far smaller!

                                                              1. The PS3 actually had a number of games running in native 1080p. And quite a few in native 720p too.
Same goes for the Xbox360, though it had fewer native 1080p games than the PS3, if I’m not mistaken.

                                                                1. Not even close and no they’re not native. Wii U can pull off native 1080p in some games, PS3 never made one. Not even MGS4 was THAT impressive to accomplish that. PS4, yes. PS3, hell no to its overpriced ass that cost Sony billions…BILLIONS! lol

                                                                  1. Rayman Legends, a couple of NBA games, GoW Collection II, Virtua Tennis 3, Ridge Racer 7, just to name you a few examples, do run in native 1080p on the PS3, if I’m not wrong.
As for Xbox360 games, I only know about Fifa Street 3 that was native 1080p (was also available on the PS3, 1080p as well).

                                                                      1. “Hollow said” ? Not sure why you’re letting me know he said that instead of just saying it yourself, but okay I guess, lmao.
Other than that, well, you said that the PS3 was not capable of running games in 1080p, and Rayman Legends is one of the examples that prove you wrong on that; the fact that it’s a 2D platformer is kind of irrelevant at this point. But even if it was relevant, there’s still a bunch of other games proving your statement invalid, of which I have named a couple, and they are not 2D platformers.
Besides, if it’s so easy to get 2D platformers to run in 1080p, how come NSMBU isn’t? Just wondering how you’d explain that, while you’re talking about 1080p in 2D platformers as if it was self-explanatory.

                                                                      2. This goes for Namie:

“if it’s so easy to get 2D platformers to run in 1080p, how come NSMBU isn’t?”

Because Nintendo doesn`T care about graphics/resolutions alone ;) Makes no sense making a 1080p Jump n´Run when you can save a LOT of Money when doing the game in 720p and it nearly Looks the same. Makes sense doesn`t it?

Nintendo said, they made Smash Bros WiiU only in 1080p- because it HELPS TO ACHIEVE finding your character fast enough! Many People complained about having too small figures/characters in the game in the past, when it was SD-Quality.

Not ist 1080p, and they made the characters a bump bigger and as its 1080p they are also now more detailed. But thats it. Nintendo isn`t caring about 1080p alone, like Sony/MS does.

Thats why Xenoblade Chronicles or no other Nintendo-game runs at 1080p. Nintendo wants to Keep the development-costs cheap. A game should not cost 100 Mio. Dollar today and if it won`t get at least 5 Mio. sold copies its a LOSS!

A game for 3DS costs 1-3 Million and Maximum is 5 mio. Dollars. And for WiiU its 4x as much of that, so at least 20 Million Dollars for cheap games (or 1 Mio. Dollars, said Ubisoft for simple xbox 360-ports)- or upwards.

Still far away from the 50-200 Million Dollars which PS4/Xbox One-games cost. And that has to do partly with the Resolution of the game. The lesser the Resolution, the cheaper assets can be used without having to re-do them, or hiring expensive People which have to make them new again.

                                                    1. Regardless of what people believe, you cannot see the difference between 720p and 1080p unless you are closer than 8 feet from the TV when it’s 60 inches in size. Of course a lot of people fall into this threshold compared to a couple of years ago and I will always want the game displayed in as high of a resolution as possible, but I’d rather have this amazing game running smoothly than have them try to force out a stat that doesn’t matter.

I don’t understand what the surprise is either. I thought all Wii U titles were highest 720p, but some are upscaled to 1080p.

Where I think higher resolution will matter more, is when we start playing with VR headgear etc.

                                                      1. Every Nintendo game on the Wii U is 1080p at 60fps which is pretty cool of Nintendo, they’re really good at optimizing. Also, I can tell between 720p and 1080p, but I honestly don’t care. It’s a console, I don’t expect the best. In fact, I love 720p on a Nintendo console.

I also agree with VR headgear. I have the Oculus Rift DK2 and it runs at 1080p and sometimes that’s not enough… but I just worry that my computer isn’t going to handle the next resolution up. Haha

                                                            1. After reading my comment again, I guess I worded it wrong, making it sound like the examples I’ve given are games that do run in 1080p/60fps. It’s supposed to be the other way around though, they’re games that don’t, lmao.
                                                              My bad. :p

                                                    2. Wasn’t this already pretty much confirmed to anyone who has watched the trailers? The resolution never looked phenomenal. If it takes a compromise on resolution to bring a game as ambitious as X to the Wii U then of course I’ll happily take it. I’m going to presume 30 FPS also.

                                                      1. I don’t know. I’m staying optimistic about 60 FPS, especially now that it’s 720p and not forced 1080p it should be somewhat easier. We’ll see :D

                                                    3. Who gives a shit if it’s 720p? This game is massive, rivaling and even surpassing several games on next-gen consoles. Something as trivial as resolution won’t affect the overall experience.

                                                    4. I don’t care what amount of “p” it runs at, but that Pro Controller support… I’m definitely buying this and XC 3D now, since I haven’t played a Xenoblade game ever.

                                                    5. Pro Controller! Yay!

Now I don’t know if I send my Wii U to warranty to fix the gamepad or not (I don’t trust the company who I have to send it to, it seems that it takes them half a year to return the console)

                                                    6. I personally don’t care if the game is in 1080p or 720p so long it’s in full native HD and runs at a stable or deadlocked 30fps. I already knew that Xenoblade Chronicles X’s massive scale was gonna prevent the game from being in a higher resolution than 720p not to mention with so much going on with those large mechs, dinosaurs and what not, so it’s not a dealbreaker for me, not even in the slightest. I sent the link to see how many people would cry about the resolution so I could see who the graphic whores and fake gamers are in this gaming community. Enclosing, let’s all enjoy Xenoblade Chronicles X for what it is or what it’s gonna be and that’s another great masterpiece with great visuals, a great story outlook, compelling characters but importantly with top notch gameplay mechanics and quit worrying about how many pixels it will have because getting a fun experience from it is all that matters

                                                    7. First of all, who here really cares about the resolution? Look at the game, just LOOK at the game! Does it not look fucking amazing? Are you trying to tell me that, suddenly, the game looks less amazing, just because it is not 1080p? Are you trying to tell me that the game looked better before you knew it was only going to be 720p? Are you out of your mind?
Secondly, yes, the game will definitely run at 30 FPS only, which is to be expected from a game of this scale. This isn’t Super Mario 3D World or Super Smash Bros., where there isn’t that much on the screen. Does the frame rate matter that much, anyways? It’s not like this is a platformer, shooter, fighting game, racing game or anything like that. For an RPG, the frame rate is really one of the least important visual factors. As long as it runs at a mostly stable 30 FPS that’s good enough.

                                                      1. Ist a fast-paced Action-RPG. So yes 60 fps would be good dude. 30 fps would not be perfect. But we will see. It guess its 60 fps. They just didn`t told you that it is.

                                                      1. Possible but you dont know that, frame rates are important anyway for heavy animations which the game lacks anyway so dont worry even if its 30FPS it will not be different if it was 60FPS.Fighting games are more in need to be 60FPS than an rpg and it doesnt matter.

                                                        1. what? The game clearly HAS HEAVY animations! Look at it! Those mechs are transforming dude! Never seen that before in a game- not called “Transformers” ;) Many enemies are stomping on you, chasing you etc. The world there is so full of living.

                                                    8. I remember back when Mario Kart 8 was firdt released, a ton of Nintendo fan boys ragged on xbox one and ps4 for still having games run at 720p or running at 900p. I hope this humbles them a bit, because like I said back then, Mario Kart is not graphically demanding. When you make a game as detailed and intricate as Assassin’s Creed Unity or Shadow of Mordor, 1080p would be very difficult to pull off. I imagine that this is is the case for Xenoblade as well.

                                                      1. Because you Sony and Microsoft fanboys were bragging about all of your games being native 1080p 60fps games when none of your 1st party games at the time didn’t have either of those features. You guys were the ones touting native 1080p this, native 1080p so don’t put it off all on Nintendo fans as the ones who were bragging about that nonsense first

                                                        1. You’re right. It wasn’t right of Sony and Microsoft to promise games at 1080p and 60fps, and not deliver. The sony and microsoft fanboys who bragged about all that before actually having games out with those specs should own up and admit they were wrong. Just like Nintendo fanboys should own up and realize that 1080p isn’t easy to pull off when you’re dealing with a massive game like Xenoblade or AC Unity. Sure, mario kart or super mario 3d world may run just fine at those specs, but there’s really not as much detail in mario’s overalls than there is in Arno’s coat in AC Unity.

                                                    9. This doesn’t make a difference to me. I was going to get this game either way. The only thing I hope they improve are the character models. That last trailer made them look pretty terrible. But even then, the game looks awesome.

                                                      1. The character models are amazing in my opinion. You know what characters models look bad? The ones in Uncharted, and AC, and CoD, and GTA, and Far Cry. You wanna know why? Because they all look identical. I love art in video games, and I hate normalcy. The character models in Xenoblade look beautiful to me, and I hope they don’t change a thing.

                                                        1. I would have to disagree. Even the original Xenoblade Chronicles characters (although at a lower res) looked better to me.

I’m not even going to compare the other games you brought up. They all have their own art styles and are all from different genres and types of games. X can still have its own art direction and look like someone put more effort into it.

But that’s just one tiny gripe I have with the game. Like I said, still excited to play and the rest of the game looks great.

                                                      2. In fact, the idea that every game now-a-days has to have a hyper realism style is sickening… I am so tired of the dull, real life looking grey games, and the stiff human-like characters..

                                                        1. Ridley, the Angel of Death

Same which is why I hate it when I hear someone crying about wanting the next Zelda to return to Twilight Princess’ artstyle. No thank you!

                                                            1. And I’ll be fine with that. Til then, I’m going to actually enjoy every new artstyle that comes before it. I just wish others would, too, til then.

                                                              1. People were expecting the new Zelda to have a realistic look to prove Wii U haters that the Wii U isn’t weak. Lmao.

                                                    10. Ok, I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, IT DOESNT MATTER
All 3 Uncharted games ran at 720p on PS3 and those are some of the prettiest games of last gen! Don’t let the trolls bother you ^^

                                                    11. I guarentee you 90% of people in the world could not tell the difference from 720 to 1080. In fact you only notice the difference on larger screens. But yea, 1080p does look slightly better on a 60 inch television set. Slightly..

                                                      1. Nope. I can tell the difference on a 23 inch monitor. Lol. Though I’m sure most other people can’t.

                                                    12. We all seen what 3rd parties have brought when they tried to pass 720… Nintendo actually knows what they’re doing
