Special Super NES Emulator SE On Ebay For $9,500

The Super NES Emulator SE is an official development kit sent only to official Nintendo studios, in order for them to develop games for the SNES system. This particular development kit is extra special because it was housed in the famous Microprose studios with Sid Meier, and could easily have been used to create his most popular game, Civilisation. It’s a pretty cool little piece of gaming history! It does turn on and would still be functional but it doesn’t have the software to work with it. It’s currently going for sale at $9,500 on eBay, or at a starting bid of $5,999 with no bids yet placed, but 61 people watching. Pricey!

  1. I never really got to experience the SNES and before era of games when they first came out, so this is pretty neat to me. Too bad I have literally no money right now LOL.

    1. I was in my early teens during the SNES era, and also remember the NES era, as well. What sucked was that computers/internet was dead in the NES/SNES era, so we had no access to game reviews. Our way of “reviewing” games was by blindly renting games at the local video rental store. We looked at the game case cover and the screenshots on the back. If it looked cool, we rented it and would often rent it repeteadly or pestered our parents to buy it for us. Borrowing games from friends or classmates was very common, as well. Sometimes, you never got your game back, though.

    1. Are you implying that you would use that money to help people? Please, stop being so hypocritical.

  2. Some rich asshole like Pat The NES Punk will probably buy it and brag about it. Just like he brags about all of the games he owns. Jackass!
