NPD: Here’s The Best-Selling Video Games In The United States In April 2015

We’ve finally got the NPD figures through for April 2015. The Xbox One was the best-selling video game platform, but we have yet to find out how Nintendo fared with the New Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. The only Nintendo title in the top ten all-formats chart is the excellent Super Smash Bros for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. Hopefully we should get a press release through from Nintendo of America detailing sales shortly.

  1. Mortal Kombat X (PS4, Xbox One)
  2. Grand Theft Auto V (PS4, Xbox One, PC, 360, PS3)
  3. Battlefield: Hardline (Xbox One, PS4, 360, PS3, PC)
  4. MLB 15: The Show (PS4, PS3)
  5. Minecraft (360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4)
  6. NBA 2K15 (Xbox One, PS4, 360, PS3, PC)
  7. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (Xbox One, PS4, 360, PS3, PC)
  8. Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3)
  9. Super Smash Bros. (3DS, Wii U)
  10. Borderlands: The Handsome Collection (PS4, Xbox One)

  1. You know, when a Nintendo game gets a top spot it’s huge because it’s only for 1 or MAYBE 2 consoles, when a 3rd party game gets top spot, it means nothing cause it’s on 4-6 consoles.

      1. So what. Mortal Kombat is only on 2 consoles.
Regardless. If Call of Duty was on the Wii U, it would probably still count for only 1% of those sales.

          1. Had this debate with someone before. Apparenlty, handheld is console. And secondly. 3DS sells big. So its all relative

    1. If you click on the link for NPD charts, my point is further proved by the fact that Xenoblade 3d would have been fith on the chart had they been counting individual platforms.

    2. No, it counts for something. It counts for MONEY. Games on more than one console can sell more easier and earn more money.

Trust me. Companies are more interested in that then “Well, my game was on a single console and beat out a multiplatform title.”

  2. It’s good to see smash bros still on here, since it’s been on the market for about 6 months. Most of the other have been in the market for maybe one to two

    1. Ya, but grab has been out for longer than smash bros, and it’s only got Wii sports to beat as the best selling game of all time :/

  3. I would buy a ficking ps4 just play mortal kombat X. To bad that isn’t enough to get on me on board.

    1. Simply because they have forgotten how to make good games. All Konami had to do was make Symphony of the Night 2. Or something similar.

Imagine a side scrolling Castlevania game with next gen graphics, leveling system, loot, character progression, ability trees, magic, etc.ect. The whole nine yards. Tons of items, armor and weapons. A Massive world with branching paths, and huge epic boss fights. Character creator, and equipped gear appears on the character… Pretty much a side scrolling Dark Souls, with more abilities, skill trees, and overall more depth.

If Konami made this game and put it on all three consoles, they would sell ten million copies easy…

But they are stubborn and stupid and we will never see my dream game unfortunately…

  4. Can’t believe Bloodbourne isn’t on that list. It’s by far the best Ps4 game out right now. Dark Souls 2 is a close second of course..

  5. You’re only a true gamer when u can appreciate all games and all consoles. Except Xbox. Fuck Microsoft

    1. Yea, I agree. You really need a Wii U AND a Ps4. To say a game is garbage just because you don’t have access to it is childish.

Bayonetta 2 is a great game, one of favorites of 2014, but not better than Bloodbourne IMO. I consider Bloodbourne a masterpiece on every level. It very much reminds me of Resident Evil 4. It invokes the same intense feeling. I truly feel bad for whomever doesn’t get to experience that game. It is worth buying a Ps4 for.

      1. I completely agree, i just finished bloodborne tonight and man that was a hell of a game! I have always been a souls fan but the setting and atmosphere were just unbelievable. Definitely one of my favorite games of all time now!

  6. And I can’t believe people are buying the Xbox One… Mostly Americans.. Wtf, these people are idiots..
