Learn Your Weapons In This New Splatoon Weapons Trailer

The Squid Laboratories released this instructional video of some of the different types of weapons you can get in Splatoon and how to use them. It’s in Japanese but this YouTube user has kindly translated into English subtitles for us. Take a look and get some tips on how best to use the weapons and see them in action, to be ultimately prepared for the next Global Testfire and the launch of the game at the end of the month. Happy splatting!

Edit: The video has unfortunately been set to private, but if you click the link you can watch it on YouTube.

  1. Holy F***in SH**! I’m I the only person here that doesn’t give a flying deep fried F*** about Splatoon?? This looks like the biggest piece of nonchalant nothingness garbage Nintendo has ever put out. Why does this dumb game get so much coverage here? Is it because Nintendo literally has NOTHING else. Jesus Christ, I can’t wait for this sh**fest to flop so you guys can stop talking about it here.

      1. You all are idiots if you continue to choose to be force fed whatever hot mess Nintendo is shoveling down your throats and you just accept it like it’s mother’s milk. This game is bad and everyone with any common sense knows it. Nintendo is better than this and we as fans should expect better than this. I am absolutely disgusted by the intense marketing campaign they’re giving to such a mediocre AT BEST game.

          1. Because he’s a negative person and wants a reason to complain. Either that or he didn’t play the demo and has no idea what he’s talking about. I’ve been on Splatoon forums constantly and haven’t encountered a single person who has played the demo and didn’t enjoy it. It’s just fun – that’s undeniable.

            1. Except IGN, of course….. to be expected, though. Meanwhile, Black Ops 3 gets 10/5 stars because apparently “Voice chat is king!”

        1. Dude why you worrying about anybody’s choice of game’s, or platform? Worry about what you play, & don’t ridicule Someone else preference. You dork.

        2. ppl have same opinion for games that you like too always will be ppl like you to dislike something at every game so f@#$ off

        3. I expected better than Wii Music. Anyway, their marketing campaigns are getting better. Hopefully we see somewhat this much attention with other future titles.

        4. Lol no. What are you talking about? This is easily one of the best Wii U games. Even I can see that. And it’s a GOOD thing they’re heavily advertising it. Especially because it is a new IP.

    1. You can complain all you want but this game won’t flop and we will never stop talking about it. After the game releases we’ll keep talking about it then we’ll talk about the free DLC then the paid DLC after that we’ll talk about the sequel. It will never end! ;)

Lol everyone is complaining about you not giving a shit about Splatoon, but what bothers me most about your comment is that you sensor your swears. What’s the point of typing it, if you are not going to say the whole thing; this isn’t television.

    3. It’s not going to flop. It’s one of the most fun games I’ve ever played. I haven’t heard anyone who played the demo say anything bad about it. Have you played the demo? No? Well then you know less about this game then the majority of us. Your opinion is invalid.

Also, why do you give a shit? It’s makes you look really pathetic. Just go play the games you like, and let us do the same.

    4. I almost feel the same way that you do. Just not as bad. But I too am already getting incredibly sick of hearing about it all the time. It’ll eventually die down, once it’s been released and time passes.

  2. I wish I hadn’t even played the test fire demos. The game has been on my mind 24/7 to the point where I don’t feel like playing anything else.

      1. It isn’t the best selling Wii U game “of all time”. I don’t know how much exactly the games sold, but I’m pretty sure Smash Bros is the best selling.

  3. That weapon paired with that special seem kinda OP.

Also, CAN’T WAIT for this game. The testfire was the most fun I’ve had on the Wii U in ages, so if that’s any indication for the finished product…

  4. Off topic, but lol… The “Squid Kid” Splatoon commercial has over 3000 dislikes on Nintendo’s channel and I think they even disabled comments. XD

      1. pink0crystal0midbus

Yeah, I’m shocked. Apparently people don’t like the commercial, because of the song.

I think it’s mostly people hating on something, because the song is obviously “different” from the norm, so when things are “different” people can flip it around to equal “bad.”

Just a bunch of bandwagoners hating on something that’s different.

    1. Haha! They did! But they haven’t had so many dislikes for the other commercial and the comments are still up. I’m a bit surprised about that. They must have hated the kid part a lot. I thought saying “Splatoon’s the game, Splatoon is here” was stupid.

  5. Splatoon will end? Right, call me when these childish mud-slings cease to exist regarding Splatoon (not implying one side, both sides but only those bigotry comments), till then this game will be the talk of the town from both the fans and the haters, lol.

  6. I don’t know how everybody played the stupid testfire demo? I tried twice and wasn’t able to. So screw the game. I didn’t care much anyways. Why the hell didn’t Nintendo just release a NORMAL demo to play, which could be downloaded and played any time? They screw everything up these days. No wonder I’ve been playing my PS3 instead.

    1. It’s called persistence. Also trying at the time of the testfire helps. And trying more than twice before calling it quits also helps.

And if you could play a “normal” demo of the game’s online mode you’d just be playing the game for free so~ yeah.
