Is Animal Crossing For Wii U Coming Soon?

Engadget has recently published an interview with Hisashi Nogami on the release of Splatoon during which he talks about a number of subjects. Interestingly, Nogami is asked at the end of the interview when we will see Animal Crossing on the Wii U. Nogami responds by saying that it is difficult for him to answer that question at this moment in time. I think it’s safe to say we should hear some news next month at the Nintendo E3 Digital Event.

So my very last question then is: When are we going to see Animal Crossing on Wii U?

Hisashi Nogami: Well, that’s difficult for me to answer at the moment! Yup. That’s pretty much all we can say.

What I will say is that you may have seen an announcement recently about an Animal Crossing product coming out on the 3DS… I can tack that on to the end of my response.

Thanks, White Eagle

    1. Maybe they should post the leak of E3, y’know Star Fox Orbit? Metroid for 3DS and Wii U? Then Nintendo News would know there’s an Animal Crossing in the works for Wii U, just saying…

  1. Sounds like it’s likely being made, then. I loved it on 3DS but doubt I’ll get into it if I can’t carry it around with me.

    1. Same. The Wii U is just taylor-made for Animal Crossing. If it’s coming to the Wii U I can’t wait to see features the gamepad will bring to it

      1. If it’s like New Leaf, I’m pretty excited. I honestly never liked AC until New Leaf. I got it free with the free DL game from Nintendo that they had running in Europe promotion and it made sense to pick New Leaf. It’s my most played game on the system and favourite game on 3DS too! It’s just a lovely game. I hope they add more extras for the Wii U version. The HD is going to be beautiful! (:

  2. Bought the game on sale played for 10 minutes haven’t touched it since. I guess it’s just too calm for my tastes. I really wish I could be interested enough to play longer but alongside all the games that are releasing it just doesn’t compare imo.

I think we can assume that ANimal Crossing will come to the WiiU sooner or later, just like every Nintendo console has its version since the GC

      1. You think you’re all high and saying that? In the US it wasn’t on the N64 so he is still right. So suck your grandma’s moldy clit.

        1. And the way how you say it is that the N64 game never existed or atleast never mattered since it didn’t realise outside of Japan. There’s more places to sell Nintendo games than just the US, even if they are the highest consumers over Nintendo outside Japan. Some US citizens actually get the system and game shipped from Japan, so maybe he was one to play the series since the 64 era.

  4. Nintendo could make a CRAPLOAD of money if they made an entire Animal Crossing series of amiibo. But if they’re limited quantity, I’d rather they didn’t.

  5. I'm a Boss Ass Bitch

What’s the fucking point of animal crossing and why and he’ll do people want it so bad. I honestly want to know.

    1. It’s a relaxing game with a surprising amount of things to do. You also get attached to the villagers and town making you want to upgrade it. Some see it as mundane while others see it as therapeutic

    2. Have you tried any of the Animal Crossing games? It’s hard to explain why people like it, you kinda just have to play it for yourself.

    3. Nintendo Tetrarch Quadramus-NX

      >>>Unless you have a lot of time to put on it, then bother, I regret buying it for the 3DS because after 1 month or so I simply stopped caring because it’s too much time consuming and I have far better games and things to do>>>

Well I don’t have time to waste anymore. This game is suited for fucking handhelds. Where you can play anywhere at anytime.

      2. I swear, you need to play like 5 hours a day to actually keep your town good. It’s tough work and not everyone has that kind of time. Rather use that extra 5 hours and get some sleep from work. Lol.

        1. Nintendo Tetrarch Quadramus-NX

          >>>Indeed, Animals Crossing is a game that caters mostly to the young ones as they have more time>>>

  6. I hope a new Animal Crossing does get revealed for the Wii U. It’s a perfect fit for the platform

I’ve been saying for a while now that we are getting Metroid or Animal Crossing at this years E3… or maybe even BOTH!

I think that would be more than enough to make up for the loss of Zelda this year.

      1. pink0crystal0midbus

LOL! That’s possible in Animal Crossing!! ….if they bring back the comet observatory from Wild World..

    1. I’m starting to believe that as well. I think this will be a E3 to remember for the Wii U. We’re only 3 weeks away to finding out. Can’t wait

      1. pink0crystal0midbus

I hope it connects to the 3DS version like the DS one did to the Wii version. That would be cooooooool!

          1. Because I’m not. But I’ve now realized how hypocritically retarded the Nintendo fan base has become. They’re just like everyone else; blindly support any BS Nintendo does and fear from maturing up.

  8. I hope animal crossing will be on the wiiu but i, m afraid they will put it on the nx eventually.

  9. It would be aweso e if thet sold like, mini amiibos for the villagers old in like, packages of 3 or something where you don’t know what you’re gonna get, so it turns into this collectable craze like in tradind card games, trading the ones you already have with your friends, etc. Aahhhh~ *keeps dreaming*

  10. I would love to see Animal Crossing on Wii U, but I dont think it will happen. Yes, there will be a new game in the series, but this wont be on the Wii U. I strongly believe Animal Crossing will be one of Nintendos fanchises that will be put on mobile. The core game fits perfectly into the free 2 play structure. And this is something that actually scares me…

  11. I only hope that if there IS a new Animal Crossing game on Wii U, that it isn’t just a copy of New Leaf (the way that City Folk felt like a copy of Wild World). City Folk disappointed me the most. I want the new one to have HUGE worlds. I always wished I could have a giant house, complete with it’s own fenced in backyard where you could put items such as swimming pools, a basketball court and other outdoor stuff. The way the games are right now, the house are more like fancy cabins. They’re not exactly like real houses or landscape.

  12. I find it funny how New Leaf claims that you’re the “mayor” when you actually have to ask Isabelle for everything. All those times you want to get something done and she’s like “Nope. Plz have the day off”.
