Another of the new announcements during today’s Japanese Nintendo Direct was the unexpected reveal of a new Chibi Robo game for the Nintendo 3DS and also a special Chibi Robo amiibo figure. The translation of the Japanese name reveals that the game will be known as Lasso Action Guru-Guru Chibi Robo. IGN reports that you will be able to use Chibi Robo’s plug as both a weapon and grappling hook. If you collect blue orbs in the game you can extend the reach of the plug. Meanwhile, the amiibo figure will allow you to level up, but other features have yet to be announced. No doubt amiibo collectors will be pleased.

I’m definitely more interested in this Chibi Robo game, because it is more about traversing a 2D side scrolling environment. That one about finding items with your camera was way too weird looking.

Looks interesting, but I do hope they have a Chibi Robo 2 on the works. I enjoy playing Photo Finder but taking photos with the 3DS camera is hard when you are reaching for a 100% (the Wiimote and Wii U Gamepad couldn’t even get me to 100%).
This side scroller looks good but I’ll hold on until more stuff come out. I’m no collector but that Amiibo is calling me… XD

Sweet! A return of Chibi and not as a fucking eshop title? AND its an action side scroller!? ANNNDD he gets a amiibo!? This sounds legit to me. Us outside of Japan better not get screwed over because of “lack of popularity” or some BS.

To be honest,is this another crappy remake of the first ever in the series for DS. I know Nintendo is being all creative but it annoys me that the fact that they’re remaking all the entire DS games into 3DS games. I mean,what’s the entire point of this crap. Retro into modern for better sales? Apparently.
