New Mega Man Animated Series Slated For 2017

Mega Man fans rejoice!! Not only are we primed to feast on Mighty No. 9 later this year, but it appears as though a new Mega Man animated series in on the menu too! And boy, am I hungry!

Dentsu Entertainment USA and Man of Action Entertainment are partnering to create a new animated series based on Capcom’s iconic color changing boy robot. The 26-episode series has a target release date of 2017 to coincide with Mega Man’s 30th birthday. Man of Action should sound familiar to comic book fans. It’s the studio that’s home to names like Joe Kelly (Deadpool, I Kill Giants), Joe Casey (WildC.A.T.s, Cable), and Steven T. Seagle (It’s A Bird…, Uncanny X-Men). This is also the same group that dreamed up the likes of Ben 10 for Cartoon Network, and has worked on Marvel Animations’ Disney XD programs, Ultimate Spider-Man and Avengers Assemble.

Now all we need are some hand-drawn, HD remakes of the Mega Man X games! Or is that just pipe dreaming?

Thanks, Kaptain Krusha K. Roolenstein and Rafmandx

      1. Perhaps because you don’t understand Japanese. Beside, whether you believe it or not, I’ve never watched DBZ.

  1. I wonder if Capcom and whatever studio is planning remaster or rebroadcast Rockman.EXE anime. DVD and VHS of older anime series aren’t available from 1st party or reliable distributor(Amazon Warehouse) so only way to watch older anime is to torrent from illegal website or stream from illegal website.

    1. I don’t understand this logic. People think Capcom doesn’t care about Mega Man because they haven’t done a lot with him, but when they actually do something with him, this somehow means Capcom still doesn’t care?

  2. “Man of Action”

Oh great, they had to involve the same guy who slowly degraded the Ben 10 franchise over the years. I really hope that it turns out to be better than the likes of Sonic Bum and Pac-Boy and the Crappy Adventures.

      1. And that’s why I do find some redeeming qualities in Boom unlike Ghostly Adventures. Sonic still acts like the same him despite the sports get up with Pac-Man is even more wimpier than his Pac-Man World counterpart. And don’t get me started on the abuse of grossout and juvenile humor in the show.

  3. Man I was so excited when I read “New Mega Man”…then I read the rest…but hey, I’m happy for anyone this may excite.

  4. Companies usually release game cartoons to correspond with a new game/series, we might see a new megaman game announced soon

  5. EVERYONE WAIT!!!!!!! Before we get too happy, lets remember capcoms are dicks!!! They may base it off, Bad box art megaman. Just to break are hope even more, like steven spielberg and gorage lucas did to indiana jones. In that south park sketch. let the dust settle first.

      1. idk man….. wasn’t Bad box art the american box art tho?… what if they do some bait and switch shit? I’m sorry i just lost so much hope in megaman that im kinda hesitant to trust any news revoling the charther unless nintendo buy him il feel safe again

  6. This is a little off-topic, so excuse me in advance, but why does almost EVERY news post from sickr, jackyanne and tk read like some marketing-chatter or some voice-over for an action-movie trailer? It seems like the only one here, who is capable of writing normal news is alba, but he only writes every few weeks. :/

    1. Ahaha, I think this is the first time I’ve been scrolling through a comments section and seen my name randomly pop up. I’m semi-Internet famous!

Anyway, even though I didn’t write this article, I was super excited when I woke up to this news. ;) Less so for the cartoon itself and more for what it represents as a whole for Mega Man going forward!

Thanks for being a GX fan!

  7. So, we get a new show… but no new games? lol okay.

If the show is great, then.. Cool. I just find it weird since there’s no new games.

Do I smell a new Megaman Game is in the works and might actually make it to store shelves this time around?

Maybe Nintendo has something to do with it?
