Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has arrived in Los Angeles for E3 2015. Although the expo doesn’t officially kick off until later this week, Nintendo is starting things early with a presentation focusing on new content coming to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS today, June 14, beginning at 7:40 p.m. The company’s Digital Event broadcast is set to air on Tuesday, June 16, at 9 a.m. PT. Nintendo president Satoru Iwata recently revealed why he won’t be attending this year’s E3.

Xenoblade is not 3rd Party. Monolith is owned by Nintendo. And Zelda is obviously being held for the NX. In fact, with the NX coming in 2017, we’re not going to see any more big Nintendo IPs appear on the Wii U. That means no Metroid. Nintendo will be dedicating all of its resources to the NX now. Mark my words. Support is going to slow to a trickle. This will be a mediocre E3 for Nintendo. There will be some interesting releases for 2016, but we already know about them. Expect to get some updated trailers and gameplay footage and that’s it.
Explains why PS3 still got some IPS from Sony when PS4 came out… yeah…
