Zelda Wii U Will Come “When It’s Ready ” And Metroid Wii U Is Up To Development Teams

One game that we are all anxiously waiting for is the gorgeous Legend of Zelda Wii U. The game was scheduled to launch on the Wii U later this year, but was suddenly pushed back to 2016 and wasn’t showcased at E3. This led many people to believe that it was being moved to the Nintendo NX. iDigitalTimes sat down with Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of sales and marketing, Scott Moffitt who said that the game will be ready to be released when it can deliver on the developers ideas.

“We confirmed that a Zelda game, a new Zelda experience is in development for the Wii U and we have our team hard at work on that,” Moffitt said. “We want that to be the best Zelda experience. Fans have been waiting for and deserve a game when it’s ready, when it’s fully featured and when it can live up to what we would like to deliver.”

Scott Moffitt was also questioned by the publication regarding whether we can expect a brand new Metroid Prime game for the Wii U. Moffitt says that is entirely down to the game developers. I personally suspect that if there is a new Metroid Prime title in development then it is more than likely to be on the Nintendo NX platform. But this is just pure speculation on my part. Here’s what Moffitt had to say.

“Metroid is really up to our game developers to decide how best to create new and different experiences. This Metroid experience [Federation Force] offers a local multiplayer feature that could be a lot of fun for game fans and we hope fans try it out and come to their own conclusions,” Moffitt said. “I have nothing more to announce about a Metroid game for Wii U but let’s be happy for what we have. We’ve got something and let’s experience it and hope fans will enjoy.”

Thanks, Paidenthusiast

    1. It’s pretty clear that Nintendo is abandoning the WiiU. Yes, Zelda will come to the WiiU, but it will not be as good as the NX version. And bet the money the tablet will be an option for NX and WiiU and not the focus with the game. Meaning, they scrapped the WiiU version for the most of it to focus on NX.

        1. Only because of where they fell in the console cycle. If the NX comes out before the next Zelda, you can bet it’ll be a Twilight Princess scenario.

          1. not really. twilight princess was multiplat in the end of the gamecube cycle, but it still had not one, but two exclusive zelda games: wind waker and four swords adventures. wii u only has a remake, a spin-off and virtual console zeldas so far. i think zelda u will be its original exclusive.

            1. Trust me, the NX isn’t releasing any time soon. Nintendo can’t be that stupid. The NX will most likely release in 2019/2020. This will give Nintendo time to upgrade their network, boost the NX’s power as far as they want, go up against the PS5 and whatever XBOX comes out, and get a lot more games for the WiiU. Nintendo will spend the time laying infrastructure first over the next 3 years, then announce the WiiU possibly at E3 2018, then release it a year later.

              1. Omg dude. Maybe you haven’t paying attention, but Nintrndo doesn’t care about power or competing with other consoles. You are in some serious denial if you think any of what you just said is going to happen…not to be the barer of bad news…

      1. I wouldn’t count on that. It will probably be like Twilight Princess, coming out on both (which is great, because it means the NX might actually have a worthwhile launch title, something Nintendo seems to have forgotten about in recent years). But I don’t even think of Twilight Princess as a Wii game simply because the Gamecube version was so much better. The Wii version just turned into a pretty sloppy port with some shoddy motion controls slapped on so it would sell better.

      2. The funny thing about the NX is that… oh, right… IT HASN’T EVEN BEEN ANNOUNCED. We know there’s a new system, we know we’ll see something about it next year… But that doesn’t mean it’s coming anytime soon. I doubt the NX will be out before Zelda U. There’s only ever been ONE case of Zelda being multi-platform, Twilight Princess. It’s not a standard thing for Nintendo to do. You’re all just being really impatient. “We’ve waited for years”. Yeah? Well they’re also developing a game which TAKES YEARS TO MAKE. It’s coming to Wii U, if it went to NX it’d lose all the Wii U features they’re bound to add in. Forget NX, it’s not even a thing to us yet. It’s just two letters.

          1. WARNING!WARNING!RETARD ALERT!!RETARD ALERT!!

Listen here fanboy, the oh-so used comparison of federation force to wind waker’s situation is incredibly flawed. Wind waker, whilst having “kiddy” graphics, still had the gameplay similar the old titles. That’s the very reason why it’s do fondly remembered-the gameplay. Metroid’ situation is far more dire. It’s the very gameplay of federation force that turns people off.

You might’ve had a point if the only thing about it that looked shit was it’s graphics but, sadly, that’s not the case.

            Understand now you corporate clown?

            1. There is nothing wrong with federation force as an offshoot of the Metroid franchise. It features the name because its set in that universe. From what I’ve seen its taking aolid gameplay elements from the prime series and fleshing them out into a different type of game. There is literally nothing wrong with that and it may well turn out to be a very good game. “Metroid” is not just its gameplay but its universe and characters and as a game that is utilising those elements Federation Force has every right to use the name. Now you can be butt-hurt all you want about the fact that Nintendo are busy working on the games that they want to work on instead of trying to fulfill some childish expectation of yours.

              1. Young pup, the problem with federation force isn’t that it’s a spinoff-it’s that we got a spinoff INSTEAD of a true metroid game. Nobody would be pissed if we got federation force along side a new, proper, metroid game. Most would probably just ignoire it and would’ve focused on the main game instead…

Also, I didn’t know that being rightfully frustrated for waiting YEARS for a new entry, only to find said entry be a worthless spinoff, is being “”childish””. Why? Because I don’t continually suck nintendo’s dick like you? If anything, you’re the child as you’re fixed on defending this garbage all the while constantly straw manning the “haters” arguments. Because you can’t attack the real ones lol.

I literally don’t give a shit about the game being called metroid or some petty cry like that. I care because I’ve been waiting a really fucking long time for a new metroid. This only metroid in name as exploration has no part in it.

Now, I’ve seen you defending this game quite a bit in this article, and I have a simple question for you. What do you see in this game? From my perspective, it’s nothing more than a generic sci-if shooter blasting monsters into cages, accompanied by ds-level graphics and a hideous art style.

The very issue at hand is that Nintendo will only work on “games they want to work on”…in other words, very little consideration for what their fans want. And don’t delude yourself by saying this is just some “childish expectation” of mine. Look at the trailers for this game. What do you see? An ocean of salt brought about by Nintendo aggressively ignoring their fans.

I’ll close with this. The main problem people have with this game isn’t that it’s a spinoff (also I’d say most think it looks like trash so far) but that this is the only thing we get after 5 fucking years of waiting. Sorry, but not everyone’s a corporate cumguzzler like you who needs to address anyone complaining as “childish” or ‘entitled”.

                1. Terms like ‘corporate cumguzzler’ say all that needs to be said about your maturity level. Grow up.

                  1. How fitting that you were unable to counter my arguments so you focused on some slander. The truth is, is that consumers like me won’t just eat up everything Nintendo does. If you think it’s acceptable that daddy Nintendo should just be able to treat it’s fans however, then you’re the one who needs to grow up.

                  2. You do realise that I’m essentially partially trolling in this “debate” by calling you silly names. Truth is, is that I’ve had similar debates to this for quite a while, and I thought I’d try out acting like some troll (blackb0nd) instead of being totally polite.

                  3. Yeah, but besides the crude cumguzzling comment, his post was D.e.a.d. On. Like, I couldn’t have crafted a better explaination myself. And if some of you would grasp his point, he might not have to crudely bitchslap some of you. (“Bitchslap being used as a general term as I would bitchslap any guy caught hitting a lady. :) )

                2. A whole 5 years of waiting?! That is almost half your lifetime! And really, ‘corporate cumguzzler’ says all that needs to be said about your maturity level. Do your parents know what kind of vitriol you spew on the internet? You might lose your computer privileges if they find out, better clear our that browser history just to be safe.

But seriously, there are plenty of other franchises that have had a longer wait for a new entry in their series. 5 years is nothing. Besides, Nintendo doesn’t owe us a new Metroid game as much as we would like one, quit acting like they do and grow up.

                  1. It has nothing to do with Nintendo “owing us” a new metroid-it’s about consumers like me expressing our frustration towards Nintendo and what we’d like them to produce. And don’t give me that “oh 5 years lol for ‘X’ franchise I had to wait 13 years” irrelevant shit. It doesn’t matter if fans from other franchises had to wait longer, it in no way takes away the legitimacy of fans complaints. You F-Zero fans have been waiting over a decade? Good for you. Doesn’t have anything to do with this situation. Fans shouldn’t have to wait so damn long for new instalments.

                3. Pup? I’m probably much older than you. Certainly I’m capeable of constructing an argument without resorting to expletives and fellatio metaphors… full marks for maturity on that one btw. The Metroid franchise up until Prime only ever had sporadic releases. Nintendo’s MO for developing games is usually to wait until they have a solid new idea to base the game around or they want to further develop an element from an existing game. Which is what Federation Force is. You don’t have to like what they’ve done but don’t presume that buying the games gives you any right to dictate creative control over them. Your incensed because they haven’t released a game in that franchise in 5 years despite the fact that the last one tanked and proved extremely unpopular and they’ve never once given you any indication that they were working on one in the first place. I want a new core Metroid game too but I am mature enough to see Nintendo’s reasoning which I happen to agree with without allowing my own disappointment to turn into unwarranted railing against the spinoff title they’re working on instead. Just because they’re not working on a core title now doesn’t mean Samus won’t ever appear on Wii U or NX. Disagree with me by all means but don’t bother replying if your going to be insulting.

                  1. You’ve brought up part of the problem, that Nintendo usually won’t develop a new iteration of a franchise unless they have “a solid new idea to base the game around” or they want to expand on a feature present in other games. Notice how they was no mention of “because fans wanted a new game”. That’s my problem with Nintendo these days-they can’t just give fans what they want. They feel the need to focus on some gimmick or two rather than simply expand previously laid out foundations.

I never said or meant to imply anything along the lines of dictating their “creative control” rather, as a consumer, expressing my wants and opinions towards them.

Oh, I know ALL about ‘other m. It tanked economically and criticality due to a few of these factors; the “sexist” portrayal of Samus, lack of exploration, a terrible story, etc… To be honest, I don’t care how badly Metroid other M did. Nintendo should’ve been smart enough to realise that people hated it for being a bad game…rather than simply being a metroid title. In other words…it shouldn’t of been a legitimate reason for placing the franchise on hiatus.

I don’t think it’s very mature to not express views such as “give us a core metroid game”…and yes, I’m aware I’m being hypocritical when dealing with maturity ( ya corporate cu-opps).

The problem with the notion that “don’t worry, metroid could still appear on the Wii u or NX” is why hasn’t it happened then? With the Wii u, it’s approaching the end of its lifespan (check out that 2016 lineup) and, since metroid isn’t exactly a system seller, it seems impossibly unlikely that the Wii u would receive a metroid game…despite the GameCube and Wii before it getting two each.

With the NX, the same thing could happen like the Wii u, that they “couldn’t get a development team together”.

NO Metroid fan would be “crying” about this spinoff if there was actually legitimate reasons for having confidence in this franchise getting more games any time soon.

                    1. There is a valid point being made here. Metroid was an IP traditionally aimed at an older audience of core gamers–one less impressed by flashy gimmicks. Nintendo just needs to make another goddamn Metroid game, period. Yet Nintendo aggressively ignores what their fans want and instead opts to wait until they can come up with some silly new gimmick, allowing years to pass while one of their most prized IPs collects dust and gets forgotten. This just shows how out of touch Nintendo can be. Nintendo should never EVER go more than 3-5 years without a core Metroid release, and now they have gone eight (Other M doesn’t count as it, too, is a spinoff)

                4. Since you clearly don’t know any of your Metroid history (I’m not even a fan and I know this) let me educate you a little bit. Remember the DS? Well, a game known as Metroid Prime Pinball came out for it BEFORE A MAIN GAME. Moral here? You wait it out you get Metroid Prime Hunters. So if they’re playing with the universe then they’re looking into how to make another game. Spin-off games are fine, despite when the last “main game” came out. Nobody’s even giving this game a chance because they’re too busy bitching about the Metroid game we should have gotten. So before you just bash it and call people a bunch of rude names why not wait for it to actually come out so you can give it a try?

                  1. Metroid Pinball looked, felt and played like Metroid. It was full of Metroid Lore, you played in the sphere, it was almost Metroid platformer… (almost) – or didn’t you even play it?

Pinball and Hunters for the DS looked and had the ambiance of a metroid game, ClusterFuck Force does not.

                  2. “I’m not even a fan” is the moment everything else you said after became moot & irrelevant. And I’ll add to what Jaded said about Pinball. It was actually made when we had gotten two awesome Metroid games before it & we knew another was well on it’s way. This trash they are giving us now is being made after the worst Metroid game in history which means we’ve had to wait over 7 years for another good Metroid game. And now that is going to be made even longer as we now have to wait for the NX to release before we get a new, good Metroid. And if the NX really won’t come til 2017 or 2018, that’s going to be over 10 years without a good Metroid.

          2. The difference between WW and FF is that WW didn’t change so many things and made it a not-Zelda game. Not to mention, Zelda can change its style because it is supposed to appeal to everyone. Metroid was based on the Alien movie(s) and is supposed to be darker and more serious. FF looks like bright and cheerful Mega Blocks and that is NOT how Metroid is supposed to be. So far it’s gonna turn out like Nuts n’ Bolts did.

          3. Nintendo Tetrarch Quadramus-NX

            >>>Like I’ve said numerous times before, Metroid is a dark franchise, doesn’t work with childish style at all>>>

          4. I would rebuttle you playing that chilche card but…anon already did it pretty well. Look, I LOVE Nintendo. Playing the first Bayonetta on the WiiU right now. But this is one decision by them I just can’t get behind. If people want to call me a “butthurt fanbaby,” then go ahead. I’m a Nintendo lover, but not worshiper. FF was a bad call at this time. I’m sorry, but Nintendo done goofed up on Metroid.

        1. I don’t like Federation Forces aesthetics, but from what I’ve heard from ACTUAL people who have ACTUALLY played it, they said it was very very fun. I’m not saying you’re wrong and it’s actually terrific, just trying to play Devil’s advocate is all, and maybe shine light on a different perspective.

              1. Nintendo Tetrarch Quadramus-NX

                >>>The last thing I’ve “attacked ” you on was Miiverse and it wasn’t even me defending it, and you attack me all the time with insults as well even though you clearly hallucinate things about me and things I say>>>

      1. He meant Federation Force, Zelda looks nice enough…
Although I love the Zelda franchise, I won’t by it… The WiiU isn’t worth it, not even close.
If they remake it for the NX, and if the NX proves itself worth of its price in term of good games and technology, I will definitely buy it.

        1. Are… other consoles MORE worth it? So far the Wii U has a pretty impressive library of games for it. Not as many as it’s predecessors, but MORE than enough to warrant a purchase, I believe. Is there nothing about it that piques your interest?

  1. pink0crystal0midbus

Maybe Nintendo can surprise us with a Metroid Wii U game. It isn’t totally out of the question, just very u likely.

I’d rather stay hopeful than pessimistic.

    1. If you have to hope that your fans try a game they clearly do not want to try, something says how stupid the company is. Reggie and 5 other Nintendo Staff keep saying that they hope people play it because it’s fun. Nintendo has this “fun, fun fun fun fun…..” Shit stuck in there heads. Metroid isn’t made to be just fun. People want a challenging, hard as hell, deep and dark story. That’s why Prime is so loved and Super Metroid is considered one of the best or the best by many players

      1. Hard as hell and a deep story? That’s 2 things Metroid has never had.

Though Echoes comes close to hard as hell.

      2. How do you know Federation Force won’t be challenging? Have you played it? And a deep story? When has Metroid ever had that?

          1. They obvioudly didn’t bother scsnning shit or they’d know about the storyline and why we Love Samus do much. They must have just “run’n’gunned it. x.x

    2. On the contrary, we better hope it’s coming for the NX (that still have a chance of being a good console).

For the ones that already have the WiiU, it’s cool, but for the countless ones not giving a damn about the WiiU (like me), it would suck. There is almost nothing good on WiiU except Smash, WindWaker HD, and a few scattered titles that have potential… a new metroid prime on WiiU would not be bought by those people.. one game isn’t worth it.

If the NX succeed where WiiU failed (power, graphics, big titles, more serious approach of what Fans wants), then I’ll buy it.

    3. I think it’s out of the question. And is Federation Force only Local multiplayer, or Online also? I’m not getting it either way, but if it doesn’t have online…I will die Laughing.

      1. Considering nintendo’s track record with online…I’ll be VERY surprised if this actually has online.

      2. I bet it’s offline with stupid ass Miiverse posting by fucking bratty kids with shitty drawings and repetitive ass kissing posts of the game and Nintendo being godly.

  2. I was very skeptical when they showed off Mario 3D World, and then again with Mario Maker. They proved me wrong with 3D World and it looks like they’re going to do it again with Mario Maker. I’m hoping they’ll prove me wrong with this Metroid game as well, all though this seems unlikely seeing as first person shooters control like shit on the 3DS. If only they removed the Metroid name off it, they wouldn’t get this much hate.

      1. Agree, it would’ve been a better fit seeing as the controllers have triggers and and two sticks. Not to mention that the Wii U needs it more than the 3DS. Oh well, Nintendo logic will always allude me.

    1. People were Skeptical of 3D World because when they first presented it, many dwelled on it being a familiar 3D Land concept barely changed and as for Maker, it only presented the Mario Bros. retro sprites and New Mario Bros. style with no Mario Bros. 2/3 and World in sight.

As for this chibi POS soccer mini game for a “Metroid Prime” game, nothing is good about it and it deserves all of the hate, backlash and skepticism it got.

  3. Galactus The Planet Devourer

So yoshi is out. Is Xenoblade X out in Japan? I know Mario MAker is coming. Hmm. Looks like that’s it for Wii U huh?
    Wow.
Zelda will launch along NX as well. No doubt. If they’re spending “more time to get it perfect” it’s not because they really wanna impress their small install base its because they wanna attract millions to the NX.

    1. Peanut Butter Kit Kat

You missed out Star Fox Zero and Fatal Frame, amongst a few others.

Nintendo have said quite a few times now (notably at @ E3 but not many people noticed because they were too busy crying about Federation Force) that they’re only announcing games close to release (This is probably due to the Zelda delay and Xeno taking an eternity), You may even get a few announcements before 2016, there’s going to be a few directs between now and the end of the year.

Despite what some people want to believe, won’t see the NX until at least late 2017. The Wii U isn’t done just yet.

  4. Up to developers. What a cope out Bill excuse. Nintendo has to approve this. Federation force. I don’t care. It looks disgusting.
Zelda U. Ain’t gonna happen. They are abandoning the console. The hardware was out of date 6 months after release.

  5. Oh fuck the hell off with this “new and different experiences”! Give fans what they want! Either a 2d metroid, prime, or even a form of other M. And piss off with that “you should be happy you got something attitude”. We DIDN’T get a new metroid game at all. This is because metroid, at it’s core, is an exploration based plat former….not a kiddy version of halo.

People, take into account that both the GameCube and Wii got TWO metroid games each…the Wii u look’s like its getting NOTHING. What a fucking waste of time and money -_-

      1. You’re an idiot if you think making another metroid game in the style of a previous entry would be making “the same game over and over”. Anyways, it’s FAR better to release a sequel with not much changes from the core formula than to release an entry that try’s to reinvent the wheel for no god damn reason other than to appease your types, that call anything that is remotely similar to another game a rehash. Kindly shut the fuck up.

And don’t get me wrong, I’m not opposed to “innovation”, rather, I’m opposed to innovation replacing the core formulas. Anyways, you sound like the type that would prefer franchises to constantly change their core mechanics with each entry…because screw giving fans what they actually want! Inovation isn’t inherently good…the sonic series proves this.

    1. What do you expect them to do?
EVERYBODY ELSE COMPLAINS ABOUT HOW THEY ALWAYS MAKE THE SAME THING
MAKE UP YOUR GODDAMN MIND OR STOP WHINING FOR GAMES LIKE A CHILD WANTS A TREAT

      1. Looks like I’ve found another pathetic Nintendrone who can’t understand the fact that actual fans of the series, hardly any of them want something “new and fresh”, because when you’ve been waiting over a decade for, say, a 2d metroid, you tend not to give a shit about some totally new gameplay style for metroid-you just want what you like.

Please understand that the majority of those screaming “Nintendo’s just rehashing their IPs and can’t make something original” then to be outsiders looking in…not actual fans of the franchises. In addition, even if said franchises completely changed their core mechanics to suit these babies, they would likely not give a shit because, at the end of the day, Nintendo has still made “another metroid”.

  6. Nintendo has already said it will continue to support Wii U and 3DS after the NX releases. Zelda U has been in development for Wii U. Why would they suddenly abandon a game that they’ve promised for this system if they’re not going to stop supporting games for that system.

As a side note the developers of project cars compared to this game are irrelevant. Developers for Wii U will not quit a Wii U game because they think it is too hard.

    1. Of course they’ll tell people that both the 3DS and WiiU are still going to get supported after their next system comes out, lmao. What, do you expect them to openly say they’ll completely abandon the WiiU once the NX is out, just to lose potential WiiU buyers + make current WiiU owners angry? Back in the time, they said they were going to continue to support the GBA after the DS comes out too, and that both systems will co-exist without the DS replacing its predecessor – look at how that turned out.
It’s quite naive of you to believe those words.

      1. So if they say they are abandoning it, you’ll believe them. But if they say they will continue to support both, it’s a lie?

Basically, you’ll believe what you want to believe, right?

        1. No, I will believe what seems realistic. Nintendo continuing to support both the 3DS and (especially) WiiU after the NX is out, does not seem realitsic. At all.

      2. Same thing was said about the Wii while the support was pretty much dead. Then after a whole year of no games on it from Nintendo, they announced that they were ceasing manufacturing. I guess by “support” they mean they’ll still make the console, just no new games.

    2. And by “supporting Wii U”, you mean revealing and making jack shit for that system while 3DS still pumping out more core games and advertisements. I’m no fool of that transparent bullshit.

  7. sounds good to me, but if it does release for the nx too, then that’s the version I’ll most likely get.

  8. My Wii U has been a big paper weight for a while now. The Wii U is not a bad system, but we have had a small variety of games for it. I have at least 40+ games (not including digital) for my Wii and 3DS, but only 10 for the Wii U. Sure the Wii U hasn’t been out as long but the game library/variety just isn’t there, which is why it’s failing.

    1. Xenoblade X, Wooly World, Mario Maker, and Zelda will sell some units, but most people will have moved on by then.

      1. Including eshop only, because I was talking retail only. Regardless it just means we have different tastes. I rather buy another 3DS game I really want then buy something for the Wii U, like Star Fox and Mario Maker, for the heck of it.

          1. Of course! Not too long ago I was talking to someone who said there weren’t any good games coming to the 3DS this year, but to me there’s too many good games to count. :)

  9. Pingback: Queridos zelderos, en palabras de Scott Moffitt: Zelda Wii U llegará “cuando esté listo” – Arcadiavg

  10. I hate it when people say that the WiiU isn’t worth it. That’s simply not true. While the hardware graphically isn’t as strong as it’s competitors, good graphics don’t make a game. The games list is actually very strong. It includes:

    Smash Bros.
    Wind Waker HD
    The Wonderful 101
    Splatoon
    Bayonetta 2
    Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
    Mario Kart 8
    Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
    Super Mario 3D World
    New Super Mario Bros. U
    Pikmin 3
    Zombi U
    Hyrule Warriors
    Captain Toad
    Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
    Ducktales Remastered
    Yoshi’s Wooly World
    Assasins Creed
    NES Remix
    Shovel Knight
Multiple Virtual Console games not available anywhere else
    and more

Not to mention upcoming games like Zelda U, Starfox Zero, Xenoblade Chronicles X, ect. I know that this list isn’t as big as most other consoles but the quality of these games greatly offsets that in my opinon. Even half of this list could probably keep you busy for most of next year. I do understand Nintendo’s abandoning of the system due to it being a commercial failure, but it did have a decent list of excellent games throughout it’s lifespan. It didn’t suck. Don’t give up on Nintendo because of 1 system and 1 bad decision.

    1. Barely any of the games you mentioned are any fun in my eyes. All I care about is getting metroid, fire emblem, paper Mario, etc… The one TRUE masterpiece on the Wii u is pikmin 3 and pikmin 3 alone. The others are decent at best.

    2. The Wii U Isn’t a bad system by any means, but when I buy a console I’m expecting for it to have such a large expansive library that I’ll have stuff to play even after the next gen is in. The Wii U doesn’t, and probably won’t, have that. The Wii U has game droughts with only one game per month, and if you don’t like that game then you’re waiting even longer for a game to play. Sure there are eShop games and VC, but not everyone wants those. For the NX I’m hoping for a true next gen console in terms of power, for the power whores and third parties, a library as great and diverse as the 3DS, a gimmick easy to work around, since Nintendo WILL have one, and great fun as usual. I don’t really think it’s that hard to achieve that, but Nintendo has other plans.

    3. It is not worth it anymore and the 3DS has similar and better core games and features and ironically, better battery life as well as controls as that fucking iPad imposter gamepad controller that almost as forced as Kinect but just as pointless shortly after.

  11. ” when it’s ready ”

Translation: ” we could be moving it to a 2017 release date so it can be available alongside the NX version. ”

It’s really starting to sound like that the new Zelda will indeed be a cross platform release

      1. What part of ” could be ” don’t you understand. I know Nintendo said that Zelda Wii U is coming in 2016 but there could always be a last minute change of plans. It does happen

  13. Galactus The Planet Devourer

I don’t understand. We all know Nintendo said the game would be ready for release by holiday 2015!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And now they say … Oh when it’s ready. It’s not ready yet.
I bet it’ll be ready when NX releases!!!!! I tried to sell my Wii U. Nobody would even buy it.

  14. “We want that to be the best Zelda experience.”

As long as Nintendo keeps Aonuma in charge of Zelda, the series will never see any game like the glorious Ocarina of Time. Aonuma scored one with Twilight Princess, but since this moron loves to make experimentations in the others’ franchises, Zelda is pretty much doomed in Aonuma’s hands. He persists on these artsy graphics when the fans want realistic looks, he persists on the puzzles when the fans want more action and exploration (y’know, Link uses a Sword to cut down enemies, not for solving stupid puzzles, puzzles were never the core of Zelda).

So, no matter if this game will enter into Twilight Princess scenario (which I hated, because they blurred the superior Game Cube version), in the end, it will be an OK game with the same Aonuma staples.

    1. So you’re saying it’s unwise to change a tiring formula of a franchise? I see to believe that you’re one of those COD twats buying the same game thinking it needs no real change I bet.

          1. Less than ever? Comedian.

NSMB DS = Best selling game on DS
NSMB Wii = 4th best selling game on Wii
NSMB 2 = Probably the only one less sold than a 3D Mario on the same console
NSMB U = Best selling game on Wii U

Besides 2D Mario always beat 3D Mario in sells, which is a series that is always changing the design, I believe Super Mario Maker will be a megaton.

    2. Sounds like a personal problem to me because I’ve been enjoying Zelda in Aonuma’s hands. And puzzles were never the core of Zelda? Maybe for the first two games, sure, but every other game since has had puzzles as an integral part of the Zelda infrastructure & this was before Miyamoto gave the reigns of the series over to Aonuma. If there is anyone holding any franchises at Nintendo back, it’s Sakamoto of Metroid and, to a lesser degree, Sakurai of Smash Bros.

      1. I hate how Aonuma made the new Zelda games to look boring and full of those bizarre aesthetics. Aonuma never does anything based on what people want to play, he only does what he wants to do, people ask for a realistic action Zelda, Aonuma delivers cartoony puzzle Zelda.

      1. I didn’t need to reply to you ya dumb fuck all I said was you acting like a bitch with yo stupid retarded kid with down syndrome go drown in a river of shit with yo slow ass and you should no by now I’m definitely not afraid to comment at anybody on this website lol ya punk ass kid and why do you keep complaining knowing nine do possibly won’t change for a long time regarding systems unless if it is with the no and you are going good to be kissing Nintendo ass once the new metroid game comes out and you know it

        1. You know, all I can translate from this diarrhea of an essay is this: “I’m a turd for a *mature & smart* Internet meme user who’s always right by repeating the exact same baby paragraphs I read and ripped off from the last several hundred trolls posts and my angry parents fighting next door. But I don’t care because this is the Internet and no one can touch me from acting so mentally impaired when I attempt to use my only 5 brain cells to type these plagiarized comments” Woopdee fucking doo kid.

          1. How did you get that from a comment lol keep being retarded and get the fuck outta here and what I say isn’t troll comments now you may have to get through my comments to get the message but you are to stupid to do that and these are my comments lol nobody is a plagiarist and no I switch it up lol and this is how I comment because it seems a lot of people on this website lack any kind of memory of past knowledge and how Nintendo works and Nintendo has been changing in ways people do and do not like but o well you obviously have to get used to it and or get another console or consoles go satisfy your taste in games and whatever else you want on a system etc etc

  15. I just hope that the new Zelda game isn’t called “The Legend Of Zelda Wii U”. Or with just the U in it. I always hated when games was named after the console they appear on. It’s so uncreative.

  16. Pingback: NOA on a Console Metroid- Be happy with what you got

  17. “I have nothing more to announce about a Metroid game for Wii U but let’s be happy for what we have.” -.- That’s right, Moffitt. Keep deepthroating Nintendo’s dick like the good little bitch that you are. Like Other M, every true fan of Metroid that knows this series was meant to be based around the Alien franchise, a series that is far from being for little kids which is what Federation Force is trying to do, will pretend that Federation Force DOES NOT exist.

If you want a sports game so bad, Nintendo, just make another Mario Golf or Mario Strikers or some shit like that. Keep that kind of genre far from our Metroid, damn it!

  18. Is it bad that this piece of shit is making me like Other M? The only way for Nintendo to save themselves is to announce fucking Metroid 5 along with a Metroid 2d anthology collection with a Metroid 2 remake for 3ds, b/c they lost me as a fan, pathetic.

    1. Yes. That’s a bad thing. And I’d love to get a mainline game anthology collection with a 3D remake of “Return of Samus.” Hell! Just convert Zero Mission, Super, & Fusion into window 3D games so Return of Samus remade as a 3DS game won’t be out of place. If Sega can “remake” some of their 2D classics with window 3D, Nintendo can do the same for the 2D Metroid games.

  19. I hope, I feel 2.5d is the next step for 2d Metroid games since they already did 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit. So 2.d would definitely be the way to go. I hope one is in development for 3ds, HD Prime can wait.
