Japan: Nintendo 3DS Sells 55K And Wii U Sells 11K

This week’s Japanese sales charts are now in via sales tracker Media Create. It would seem as though the Nintendo 3DS has seen a substantial bump this week with the release of Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer. The handheld sold 55K this week, compared to last week when it sold 28K, so the thirst for Animal Crossing is real. Wii U sales continue to be a sore point, but on the plus side Splatoon is continuing to sell well in the platform. Here’s the best-selling video games this week in Japan.

      1. Just a Star Fox fan.

It will drop again for sure, but WiiU hasnt never really “flourished” to begin with. Give it 1-2 year, then NX comes out hopefully with 10 must have exclusives out of the gate along with big 3rd party titles and the machine will be most powerful game console and watch that thing sell 10-15 million units at its first year. Oh and NX online should be kept free, that´ll give them advantage over Playstation´s and Xbox´s.

          1. I will trying to decide between smash and splatoon right for my b day next month. Wife likes to buy me a video game or sporting event tickets for my bday. I’ll just let her decide which one to get.

        1. Peanut Butter Kit Kat

It’s probably the most fun I’ve had on my Wii U up until this point, and I’ve had a hell of a lot of fun on my Wii U.

  1. Didn’t think Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer to do this well. Well, I guess it is because Japan loves Animal Crossing, so I shouldn’t be surprised.

    1. The fact it’s a handheld title also helps. Which is bad, in a way, because Federation Force might actually have a chance. D:
