Nintendo America Files New Trademark For “Donkey Kong Jr”

Nintendo of America has recently filed a brand new trademark for Donkey Kong Jr. The find was found on the United States Trademark website and was filed just over a month ago. It was actually filed by Nintendo of America under the following criteria, “Downloadable electronic game programs; downloadable electronic video game software; electronic game programs; electronic game software; video game programs; video game software”. Any guesses as to what it could be mean?

    1. Hmm… The only games I can guess are Super Mario Kart, Donkey Kong Jr., Donkey Kong Jr. Math. Those are the only games that I can think of that have DK Jr. in it, but I think those are all on the eShop already besides maybe DK Jr. Math.

    1. I’m kind of surprised that Nintendo is only just now filing a trademark for Jr. I would like to see him in a future game though. He kind of got pushed aside when Diddy Kong came on the scene.

  1. If it’s not just a refresh file, it could either be one of the DeNA mobile games coming out, a new eShop title, or POSSIBLY Super Smash Bros DLC. I know that last one is a stretch, but take into account what RogersBase and Stealth had to say. I’m also aware that almost no one voted for him, but that validates what RB ans S had to say even more about the character having nothing to do with the ballot. And hey, you never know with Sakurai.

  2. Something could come out of this or something won’t since nothing has come from Nintendo renewing their trademark on Eternal Darkness as of yet. Maybe we’ll get surprised at some point as they reveal they’ve footed the bill for Shadow of the Eternals as a sequel/prequel to ED & that’s why we haven’t heard anything new lately on that game’s development.

  3. They’ve been trademarking Donkey Kong characters for a while. Diddy Kong, King K. Rool, now DK Jr. I’m just here waiting for Lanky, our lord and savior.
