Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition Coming To Europe October 29th On Wii U

Nintendo Europe has tweeted that the acclaimed Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition is coming to the Wii U eShop on October 29th. The highly regarded game will arrive just in time for Halloween and will have a 25% discount until November 5th. Hopefully pricing will be the same as other Wii titles available on the Wii U eShop.

      1. It’s easily the best out of the original trilogy, but some people might consider the gameplay dated as well, and it doesn’t have REmake’s visuals to make up for it.

If the remake turns out to be good (and I don’t see how Capcom can screw it up) it could be the best entry yet.

        1. HD version would have been a must have, but this doesn’t get me going. I beat it too many times over to play the wii version from scratch again, but I will say, best control scheme of any RE game and hit the mark on almost all levels. Loved the side games where you have to kill a bunch of dudes whatever that was called… it has been a while.

Id pay $60 for an HD version

          1. Best version is Wii version, besides the new PC HD Version (because the first PC version was definitely the worst of all, Mobile RE4 was better)

          2. Kinda unrelated, but RE4 is available on Humble Bundle right now. You can get it on PC, along with a bunch of other games like RE5, RE Revelations, DmC: Devil May Cry, Remember Me and a couple more titles, all for $9.39 or something. Pretty good deal honestly, and the money’s going to a good cause.

            1. I’ll pass. I already played this crap so many times. I don’t need to play it again, especially buy it again.

            2. I was just thinking about this game last night, and how glad I am that RE4 was the first Resident Evil game I ever played. Because if I had played any of the first three games first, I might not have gave Resident Evil 4 a chance. Because I tried playing the original Resident Evil game (the Gamecube version) AFTER finishing RE4, and the play control frustrated me. I got to a certain point in the game, but got stumped (and bored) and never returned.

Resident Evil 4 will most likely remain the only RE game I love. I played through Revelations, but never felt that same addiction (also couldn’t beat that last boss. IMPOSSIBLE!). I attempted RE5, but was instantly frustrated with having to worry about my partner’s health, and giving her all of my herbs. Never touched RE6 (though I have it).

I only wish this was the (physical) HD version of RE4. Because I never got to play that one.

                1. If anything, it’s a shame that you didn’t try any other RE before 4. No wonder you have problems going back to the older ones. REmake is widely considered to be the best game in the franchise along 4, albeit for different reasons.

Funny enough, the movement scheme is exactly the same on every title. They all have tank controls, the only thing that changes is the position of the camera.

              1. I still have the Wii disk. It was definitely a fun game, but without an HD upgrade, I’m not sure how it will hold up on HD screens…

              2. Rogue Master XenoRidley X3

Oh fuck you! Fuck this bullshit! Resident Evil 4 HD Edition WITH motion controls or no fucking buy! Like others, I’ve still got a fully functional RE4 Wii Edition copy so fuck off!
