Prepare for the pandemonium! Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends is out now for 3DS and Wii U, and developer, Little Orbit has released a action-packed launch trailer to show it off.
The game is a 2.5D platform brawler, in the vein of Super Smash Bros., and sees more than twenty popular characters from the franchise showing up and throwing down. Players can fight up to 3 opponents locally, or online and enjoy more than 5 game modes, including “Tournament of Legends” Mode, Team Play, and Tag Mode. You can get a taste of the gameplay in the trailer below.

I remember when licensed games used to be good.
maybe they just made more games then… so there was more good to remember. I do remember plenty of bad though for sure
That might be true, but there’s no denying that the quality of the games themselves has taken a nosedive since the fifth (maybe sixth) generation of consoles. Think of Disney games in particular. Both versions of The Lion King and Aladdin are great, and to this day I can’t name a more beautiful NES game than Darkwing, just to name a few.
Lion King and Aladdin were great… The art style played well with the console limitations and really were innovative in the use of different playing styles for different levels etc… I wonder if I (we?) are skewed with age a bit, but I think for sure the quality has gone way down with them to where games with film/tv licensing are absolutely toxic.
Nah, I think it’s pretty obvious that they’re not as great as they used to be. Generations ago, bad licensed games were a rare sight, but now they’re the norm.
Yeah, fair enough. I did buy some stinkers though on NES… Roger Rabbit and Total Recall come to mind immediately
Shameless Smash clone.
Oh s#!t smash bro…. oh! Never mind carry on…
Wait… Didn’t Tylung die in the first movie, wow… REALLY?
Who says this game has to follow continuity?
Smash’s combatants are all trophies, why couldn’t this go by a similar pretense?
