Corrin Joins Super Smash Bros.

corrin_smash_bros

Fire Emblems protagonist Corrin in both male and female versions will be  joining Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS in February 2016.

Corrin has the Dragon Fang ability allowing him to change fully or partly into a dragon as he fights. He can sprout wings in back air attacks. Along with this, he also has a standard special Dragon Fang shot which will  make your opponent temporarily paralysed.

Another ability Corrin will have is the Dragon Lunge ability which can nail your foe to the ground, trapping them allowing you to front and back kick them.

Along with these moves, Corrin will also have a move called Dragon Ascent. This move will spread his wings, giving a him a wide attack range. The final smash is Torrential Roar, which will pull in nearby opponents with a whirl.

There is no official stage for Corrin but you will get a soundtrack on the Wii U version which will be added to the original fire emblem stages.

  1. Did we really need another Fire Emblem character? What a waste. Between Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, and Fire Emblem that’s like half the damn roster. How about some damn variety? Oh well.

The avatar from Fates is part dragon!? Holy shit! Sweet! Anyway, finally a dragon character in Smash!

    1. Of course you would be happy with him. At least you’re not complaining about too many swordsman like the others. XD

And with the Takamaru Mii costume, I hopes that Sakurai still has him in mind for the next game.

Screw him. lol Seriously though, he’s done enough for Smash & should let someone else take over from here. Time to let a successor take his place. If he doesn’t, the franchise is just going to become stale at some point. Imagine if Miyamoto was still in complete control of Zelda… *shudders at the thought* o.O

          1. Kind of how I feel about Aonuma. He always worries me when he starts talking about Zelda. He is always talking about taking the series into directions that I really don’t like. Part of me wants him off of Zelda, but then I fear who might replace him.

        2. I’ve seen that statement already. Whether or not he doesn’t want to do another Smash, the Nintendo upper heads would find one way to force him to work on another. Though I would be perfectly fine with this being the last game and enjoy the costume while it lasts.

        3. There was an interview recently where Sakurai stated that he isn’t sure the Smash team could handle making another game without him. I don’t think he’s ready to let go just yet. However, the next Smash won’t be in development for a long while. I’m hoping he gets a well deserved vacation and a chance to work on another game of two before coming back to Smash.

Oh I wonder why. Oh that’s right! Because he’s doing most of the work & barely lets anyone help with character balancing & shit. Like I said, he’s holding the franchise back at this point because he won’t delegate. Exactly why I don’t feel too much pity for him every time he complains about his poor, injured hand. Quit being an idiot doing all of the work when you have an entire team to help you out. Glory hog…

            1. You’re a little intense there… Sure, he’s a control freak but Smash for Wii U and 3DS is the best iteration of Smash to date. Without him putting his blood, sweat, and tears into it; it may not have turned out so good.

I’m a big dragon fan so of course! And no complaints from me in that regard since I know there aren’t that many swordsmen compared to the plethora of characters that don’t even use swords. Corrin would make swordsmen #11, though, right? Or is it 12… Yeah. 12 out of over 50 characters is not too many. If it is, I’m going to win the lottery without even buying a ticket in the coming month!

  3. Beyonetta is great but who us this guy/girl? & I find it hard to believe yet another Fire Emblem character was voted into Smash….again.

Happy to see Beyonetta but they could’ve brought us more than this.

  4. This is a big spoiler alert to those of us who have yet to get Fates. That aside, his/her moveset sounds very fun to use and pretty unique. I don’t play Smash anymore to waste buying DLC, but I like the choices (Cloud, Bayonetta, etc) we recieved for the final Smash DLC.
