Nintendo has today revealed that there’s a brand new update coming to Super Mario Maker just before Christmas. The update will arrive on December 22nd and brings with it Fire Spitting Clown Car, Bumpers and Doors activated by P-Switches. There’s also listings of who beat a stage first and the best time for every stage too. Check it out in the video, below.
New Features Coming To Super Mario Maker On 22nd December

They do need better statistics… points, to me, would be really awesome, as in who scored the most points in each level not just the time. Maybe they included that, I have yet to watch the video

I wonder if the fire clown car was inspired by Andre (GameXplain’s)
Spaceship shooter level, as I expect bouncers were added because of the automatic levels. (I don’t recognize the bouncer from any mario game)
Because if they are adding elements based on popular levels, than thats awesome!
The bumper was probably inspired by Bouncies from Yoshi’s Island http://www.mariowiki.com/Bouncie
I think this was a bit more inspired by super Mario world land for Gameboy. as you could travel in a sub or plane and shoot things, including breakable walls (like in the video) I think this is a compromise to that.
About time! Some love for SMM! :D
is it coming to US to?
Yes.
yes, this is just a British trailer. it well be a global update (how else would you be able to play British levels made with the update)
This game has been getting my attention lately I might have to give it a try.
Seems cool enough

That’s it? Where’s the chasing sun? Where’s the desert background so the chasing sun will fit? Where’s Birdo!?
I have a feeling their well be a update in February or late January. I think these things are important still. it gives second options for the clown car (which well be better for air battles/sea battles) the magic doors (which well be a fun addition to more complex levels) and the saw blade can now become a bumper which I think well be cool for “dont move” levels.
honestly their are a LOT of things they can still add though.
angry sun, balance platforms, water elements (springs, water falls, swimming areas), local tubes (can take you within that area not just between maps) dessert, swamp, winter, mountain maps, more power ups, ghost orbs, ghost Yoshi, BIG boo (as apposed to super boo) , colored Yoshi, sliding ground, quick sand, spikes (how do they not have those yet) the puffer fish, dolfins, (or almost any super Mario world enemy) and the dinosaur caresell (customizable would be cool) ……and many other things. I think they are making updates slow so people that have the game dont make stupid levels with to much at once.
O.O It’s missing all of that!? Ugh..!
