Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem has just been released in Japan and as you would expect Tilmen from Tilmendomination has got ahold of a copy and has uploaded the first sixty minutes for us all to see. We are still no wiser regarding when we will get Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem over here in the west, but rest assured it is currently listed with a 2016 release date.

Well… this was confusing. I didn’t see a single thing that reminded me of any Fire Emblem games. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what happens.
From what I can tell the only thing Fire Emblem ish is the class systems where swords beat axes and axes beat lances or whatever it is. Also the weird mutated versions of Chrom and Virion and Tharga lol. Other them that it’s more of a Persona X Shin Megami Tense game.
And don’t forget the mutated Fire Emblem villains as bosses. I couldn’t believe they managed to make Excellus even uglier than he already was.
I agree. I’m still willing to give the game a shot, but hopefully we’ll see some more Fire Emblem elements in the game further down the road.
Class Changes are another element from Fire Emblem in the game and you’ll only be allowed to do so based on your level.

I look forward to this game. But I’d be lying if I didn’t say I wasn’t slightly disappointed this game went from being a crossover of SMT & Fire Emblem and morphed into something entirely different. It definitely didn’t morph into anything that I personally believe is bad but it’s not exactly what they led many to believe, either, with the first teaser trailer. They should have just admitted this game took a different direction from what they originally promised us when they had more footage to show. What could very well be a great, fun game is now marred by their atrocious teaser trailer from nearly two years ago. This is very fucking familiar.
