The latest figures from Media Create show that the Wii U has now sold just over 3 million units in Japan. This has been since its launch in December 2012 to date.
To compare to other console sales since they were launched in Japan, the Xbox One has sold just over 63,000, the PS4 has sold around 2.3 million, and the Nintendo 3DS has sold just over 20 million over the various different models.

3 million? And to think the Mario Galaxy games lassed more than 10 million, and manynother Nintendo games in the past that sold millions upon millions.

Impressed by the 3ds sales, Wii U sales are decent. Should honestly be better after four years. Lets hope The NX sales 3 million in its first year!

At this moment in time, might as well say 4 years since 2016, it’s 4th year, isn’t really off to a great start. It could possibly change over the next few months but I’m keeping my expectations low.

Oh my wiiu has sold more consoles than both that is because of one year extra made a difference this is saying the console market is fading away in Japan eventually this happening everywhere they are not selling so well a round the globe, I always knew that that consoles will die out and long live Nvidia shield tablet k1 for gamesfreaming and desktop PC will only formats will stay alive for gaming, safe bet is all the Nvidia providing graphics solution.
Wii U = 3M from 11/2012, PS4 2.7M from 02/2014 just 0.3M difference and the wii U has 1 year and 3 months head start.
If nintendo does not get they act together and base all the hope on the NX, PS4 will out sold the Wii U in 3 months and I’ll be doomed. Cause not interesting at all in the NX (for now at least) and giving the Wii U does not have much love at the minute, 2016 will be another lack lustre year for this console.
I feel the NX won’t be a home or handled console as we know it. I hope the wii U will co-exist with the NX (or whatever is the commercial name)
