Twilight Princess HD Has Faster Animations And Load Times

Many fans have criticized Twilight Princess HD for being a simple port with “minor” texture improvements. Of course, we now know that there’s a lot more to the game than that. In addition to the new dungeon, updated quests, new items, new controls, amiibo support, and miiverse stamps, the game also features faster animations and load times. In the video below, you can see GameXplain’s trusty analysis machine in action, comparing the Wii U and Wii versions of a few of Links animations and game load times. Although a one or two second difference may not seem like a lot, remember how vast the world is, how many areas you had to travel through regularly, and how much time you will ultimately save.

I mean this game is like sex to me. It was the first I’ve ever played a zelda game and fuck did I have an amazing experience. I can fucking agree that tge game should have been remade or improved like windwaker. I get where the fucking heat is coming from as well. I still I have the wii copy. Why buy this if it’s the same shit. Sure Consuela poured more lemon bleach on the screen to clear up the screen. But that’s fucking it. This is the 3rd time this game is being released. They should have went all out. Throwing us a fucking bone to chew on until the new zelda releases. Still the best fucking zelda.

Yeah better run you fatass hog. Wait did I say run? Oh sorry. I’m giving you an ability that a disgusting trifling bitch such as yourself doesn’t have.

        1. Forgive him lord Sasori for this child of light knows not what he speaks. I petition that your show kindness and mercy to the ignorant one…

Delusions of grandeur have led him astray. Yet you still choose not to destroy them them…

          >>>Well that challenge dungeon has been included in some Zelda games if not all before so this is actually a downgrade>>>

          1. That’s redundant. It’s added content to this title so that wouldn’t be a downgrade. An HD remake is not going to introduce anything groundbreaking for the series that will ‘upgrade’ it.

  2. TPHD looks ALOT better than the original. People who say they only bumped up the res and made it less blurry need to take off the blinders and go watch a comparison vid. Sure not every texture is just mind blowingly better than the original but many are significantly improved or even changed entirely. Ex: Hyrule field, the leaves behind link in the master sword scence and the ground underneath him, the Zelda scene when she gives up the kingdom, Zants mask, the stone and brickwork in Hyrule castle town, midnas mask and the bricks behind her, the adding of polygons to many areas of the game, the draw distance, I could kept going. It’s not a ground up remake but it is miles better than the original, and not only in graphics but it the most important part: gameplay. For sake of the length of this comment I’m leaving this here. Don’t make me talk your ears right off. (Even though you can’t hear me…)

  3. The cover of the game bothers me. While many of you here say that it’s ok to have Midna’s true form and Ganondorf on the cover just because the game’s been out for 10 years, think about those who never played the game. And if anyone argues that nobody could tell that it would be Midna on the cover, I think the story will make it obvious early on.

Imagine if Zelda U’s cover has the very final boss, or a companion’s true transformation in the end (which would be obvious). You’d be playing the whole game knowing what kind of boss you will be dealing with in the end, after the main villain.

    1. I guess but this game has been on two systems one of them being the Wii so a lot of people have already played it. There’s more people who have already played this game and will enjoy it, than people who haven’t who might maybe connect the dots. And plus it wasn’t like the story was the reason people liked this game anyways, they liked the gameplay. And seriously when you saw Ganandorf was it really all that suprising? Come on. On one hand I get what your saying, on the other it doesn’t really matter.

      1. Either way, no matter what, those character inclusions on the cover were not necessary at all. It just hurts the game, if even by a bit. Even if the story isn’t as imporant. Even if those who didn’t play it are the minority. Even if it wouldn’t be as surprising to most. No matter to what degree, it hurts the game all around.

        1. I disagree. The game is nearly 10 years old, and most of the people who will buy it are Zelda fans who have already played it. There will be, of course, new consumers who haven’t played this installment of the Zelda series, and they may not have seen any gameplay of it, or know about the story. Still, I don’t think that knowing who the final boss would reveal what kind of boss it it. They may see Ganondorf, but that doesn’t tell them how the battle will be like. Even we, who have played the game before and know the story, may have new experiences because of the new features that will be added into the game. I honestly don’t believe that the box art hurts the game in the slightest way, for all we know it may intrigue some people to buy it. I’m sorry the cover of the game bothers you, and I do respect your opinion, but I just have a different prospective.

          1. Ganondorf might be more obvious, but I’m sure many people have been imagining how Midna could look in her true form. That surprise at the end won’t really be a surprise for any new players anymore. Even though gameplay is more important, that part of how Midna could look in the end probably had people excited to find out throughout the game. After all, the importance of storyline is imporant to an extent in any Zelda game (or the larger titles at least).

  5. You didn’t mention the improved models in the game as well. Look, it’s far from cutting edge but it still looks a lot better than the original. For someone who likes this game, they can look forward to this being the clear definitive version.

  7. After some time seeing the comparative videos I’m convinced this is an HD remaster on par with Wind Waker. Sure it’s unglier, but that’s because the cell shading @ WW aged very well. Despite having played the Wii version on the Wii U, I might buy this remaster after all. One of my top 3 Zelda games.

Every since Xenoblade X everything else is child’s play now. This should be instant load considering it’s near a decade old.
